Bio

Welcome to Reflections by Lisianblue. My name is Kris, I'm a mother and grandmother who enjoys a variety of interests. When I was very young, I would draw for hours and dreamed of being an artist. As I got older, I forgot about my dream, but found it again when I went to college and took 4 yrs of drawing and painting classes. My favorite painting instructor told us if we could learn to paint with one medium, we could paint with any medium! I think I'm determined to try as many mediums as possible, on a variety of "canvases". I enjoy the design process, and love seeing my designs come to life through different mediums. I have been "crafting" for many years, with experience in beading, loom beading, bead weaving, sewing, crochet, knitting, woodworking, drawing, painting, stained glass, and photography, and a few other crafts. I have to try new things from time to time, and draw on past experience to make each creation the best it can be. I started painting glass ornaments about 7 years ago because I couldn't find ornaments I liked to give to my children and grandson. I carefully clean off the original paint of the silver lined ornaments before painting them with quality glass paints. Each one is a unique creation, although I do have several small poinsettia ornaments that are very similar to each other. I also have a few striped star ornaments that are similar, but each one has a different combination of colors. I carefully pack the ornaments inside their own custom hand crafted box with shred, that is then wrapped up in layers of bubble wrap and mailed in a sturdy cardboard box to ensure it's safe arrival to it's new home. All the ornaments I have mailed have arrived safely at their destination. I wait to make the hand crafted boxes until the ornament is ordered, so the box is freshly made. I love playing with clay, but mostly reserve that for playing with my grandchildren, since their creations often look better than mine! I now have 2 sweet (almost 3 yrs old & 20mos) granddaughters and my wonderful grandson is almost a teen! Yikes! I welcome your questions, comments, and will answer all as soon as I can.
