Hello, and welcome to my shoppe!! I am a stay at home mom with an addiction to shiny things! I work in many different mediums, never staying with only one, always learning something new. I have a daughter, a fantastic husband who creates jewelry as well, and a few wonderful pets. All of our creations come from a SMOKE FREE home. I first began learning to make jewelry as a child. My mom is a crafter, and does tons of great leatherwork... her creations are wonderful. I grew up doing craft projects and watching my mom transform old BREYER horses into beautiful works of art. I began drawing at an early age, and writing short stories. That has since faded into my past, as my focus tends to be on tactile things. I didn't really start making jewelry consistently until I was pregnant. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I was stuck in our second story apartment more than I liked. I wound up spending most of my time reading and caring for our daughter. But, on a fateful day, I remembered all of my beads that I had saved from my childhood. I had quite the selection, mostly of broken vintage jewelry with stones, glass, ceramic, and metal. At the time it was only about $200 dollars of beads. And so it began! About 3 years ago, we fell into creating Chainmaille, which quickly became one of my favorite things to do. I love creating unique pieces and working beads and stones into my chainmaille! I began playing with colors of aluminum first, and then stainless steel. This year we expanded our selection (and our storage, hahaha!) to include Copper and Brass rings. I learned from a seasoned mailler a valuable tip, and now my ring closures are as close to perfect as I can make them. Feel free to follow us on these websites! :D Our email is TheBeadMuseTX [!at] gmail.com Follow me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/thebeadmuse our website! http://thebeadmusetx.weebly.com/ @thebeadmusetx I first learned about APOPO Hero Rats via a link on Facebook. I love rats, they make fantastic pets. Well, these giant Gambian Pouch Rats are even better! I am working to promote APOPO Hero Rats, an amazing organization using Gambian Pouch rats to find land mines in Africa and free up land to be used by natives! They also have been trained to find Tuberculosis in patients, and have been finding TB in patients EVEN AFTER lab tests said they were clean! Awesome! http://www.herorat.org Female, Born on March 5 |
