Bio
I first learned to crochet as most of us do from a relative or friend, I was expecting my first daughter. I made different style blankets, those were the easiest to learn. As the years went by my children became older, the internet and youtube were here so I was able to enhance my skill set to other things like bags and crochet tops. I did the lovies, (the blankets with stuffed animals attached and did the little animals as well) My girls loved the crochet bags and tops for the music festivals. Through the years I made an array of crochet items and I’m one of those people that can’t just make ONE item, I have to make ten! So of course I’m overloaded with items! There aren’t enough baby showers or music festivals for what I have. So decided to try my hand at selling. For awhile it worked out well. Then all of a sudden big name stores want in on the profits of “hand knitted or hand crochet” items for their stores. Really?? It was interesting to see them in the stores and wonder how in world they were able to mass produce such items. What was more interesting was how quickly the items fell apart. I remember a few years ago when Target was having a heart attack over people buying out their clearance items and selling them on ebay. They limited the number of items you can now buy. I found it ironic, they are okay with tapping into handmade and squashing the little guy but heaven forbid the little guy do it to them. Hmm…

Now in a world where people are so easily offended by everything I’m just gonna put this out there. I DO NOT under any circumstance use cheap materials. I am quite certain when you are shopping for handmade items, that $13 baby sweater is made of the cheapest yarn that person could buy. That sweater will be rough, itchy and scratchy on baby’s skin and will shrink when it’s washed and dried. Not to mention baby will be miserable. That’s how hand knitted and hand crochet items get such a bad rep! I take great pride in the materials that I use to ensure baby will be comfortable and mom will not have to worry what will happen when she washes it.
