This wand is made of hand turned Poplar wood with a sealed core of fairy dust. It is just over 17" long and finished with museum quality archival wax. The pattern was freehand burned into the wood and the matching leather holster and is based on a railing at an Asian temple said to represent dragon scales. Poplar is a dense, tight grained wood shading from lemonade and pale tan through sage green and takes a high polish. If it is figured, the grain is in soft swirls of greens which can turn brown if exposed to heat and sunlight. Several species grow in North America.
