Featuring retro polka dots, this contemporary anticlastic bracelet leads the eyes to meander about a sea of mind bending 17 gauge copper polka dots soldered to a 20 gauge anticlastic bronze base.

The bracelet started as a flat 6.5 inch long by 1 inch wide band of bronze. Various sized discs were pressed from copper and soldered to the flat bronze band using an acetylene torch and high flow sterling silver solder, before forming the bracelet on a metal press, by forcing the flat metal into contained neoprene with about 30,000 lbs force with a mushroom die and repeating the pressing at .25 inch intervals. Using my hands, I worked bracelet into a perfect shape by pressing upward while the press was at maximum downward pressure. The end tabs are pressed with a smaller die to decrease the area and increase the pressure to form additional curvature for an ultra clean finished appearance.

 

After removing the fire scale, rounding the end tabs, and filing the edges, the bracelet was brushed to a satin finish that brings a perfect balance to the copper and bronze hues. While shown here in a 6.5 inch width to fit a medium sized wrist, I definitely recommend ordering your bracelet in your exact size by entering your wrist measurements in the check out notes. When you order your bracelet with a personalized fit, you will also have the opportunity to customize the individual elements of the bracelet such as metal options, substituting your own shapes, or rearranging the components to suite individual tastes. Just remember, these bracelets are handmade, so no two will be exactly alike.
