Brecciated-Jasper is a Jasper stone that contains Hematite.

It’s also known as Poppy Jasper because it has orbicular patterns of ‘poppies’ in speckled shades of white, yellow, black, or brown.

Brecciated JasperIt’s characterized by its brecciated gray and red colors, and it usually has a vitreous or opaque luster.

The word Jasper is from the Greek word iaspi, which means ‘spotted stone’.

Brecciated comes from the word ‘breccia’, which is a geology term used when rocks composed of broken fragments cement together to form a fine-grained matrix.
