| We are a husband and wife team of materials engineers. Materials engineering is "the science of stuff." What stuff? Everything! Everything we can touch in our day-to-day lives is made of a material, or a bunch of different materials. We really love materials and are in the laser cutting and engraving field because of its versatility and the beauty of the products we can create in our studio in northeastern Connecticut. In case you are wondering about our shop name, "Ottava" is the Italian word for "Octave" and is pronounced Oh-TAH-vah.
