Coolbeadgirl's Profile
Bio |
I am Molly Russ Butson, and I have been melting glass now for over 10 years. The actual technique is called "lampworking". Before the advent of propane fueled torches, artisans would use oil lamps and melt glass over these lamps to make their beads, thus the term "lampwork beads". I use a propane fueled torch and oxygen generators, which are much more efficient! I am self taught, using the credo of the three P's PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, along with the generosity of other glass artists who share their knowledge through the use of published books and tutorials. My philosophy for my art has always been affordability. New to the lineup are the embossed metals. They work well alone, or in combination with my lampwork beads. See something you like, but not quite the color you want? Let me know, and I will be happy to work with you. I am always creating new items, so keep checking back all the time to see what is new.
