The grip is hand turned Birch wood with a sealed core of fairy dust and the point is Honduran Mahogany. It is just under 14 1/2" long and finished with museum quality archival wax. Birch wood is a fine grained wood which takes a high polish and has a subtle dark tan grain. Mahogany is one of the softer hardwoods with a variety of colors and patterns. Species of Birch are found all over North America, Europe, Russia and Asia as far north as the Arctic Circle. Honduran Mahogany is found in central and south America.
Although titled Birch / Honduran Mahogany Wand 2, it is a unique carving; simply the second piece I carved using the two woods.
Not a toy and not suitable for children under 13.
