Blue Cross - Wall Hanging - Fish Gap Rustics   This piece is made from slices of maple. The name comes from the background color and the wood spacing. The pieces are almost a mirror image from right to left. The slices show lots of movement and the figure almost seems to be alive. The slices contain a lot of what would be called defects but to me that is what gives this piece character. The slices are mounted approximately 1" above the background. Which gives the piece depth and shadow lines. The background is blue faux suede. The frame is painted to match the background. Each piece is unique and can not be duplicated. 29 7/8" x 17 5/8"
