Easy Fixation Sweater Pattern
I named this pattern after the yarn my customer chose for her sweater, but I've also developed a "fixation" on wanting to knit half a dozen for myself in different colors! It's a very easy-to-knit, easy-to-wear design, great for blue jeans and weekends.
The original was knit in Cascade Fixation on a Bond knitting machine, with a finished gauge of 6.2 stitches and 10 rows to the inch. The finished sweater had a 36" chest and was about 21.5" long.
However, it can be knit in any yarn you want - even if the size is wrong or you can't match the gauge! As a bonus, I've included a 2-page article where I explain step-by-step how you can adjust the pattern to work for you and your yarn. The principles in the article can be used for almost any pattern, but this pattern is a great one to practice on because of its simplicity.
Because of the basic design, you can jazz it up if you want: stripes, intarsia, fair isle, almost anything goes. Lace would work beautifully for a beach cover-up. Have fun!
