This is a very easy but infinitely variable pattern! The detailed instructions are for my original, knit on a bulky machine with Red Heart Super Saver yarn. I've also included notes for some other versions I've knit with other yarns - INCLUDING the one that matches the Colorblock Baby Cardigan (pattern available in this shop).

The design consists of panels of stockinette stitch, worked in blocks of different color. As you knit, you join the panels together using a seam-as-you-go method.

After the panels are all knitted and joined, the edging is added. I include information about my favorite crochet edging and my favorite machine-knit edging.

If you're even more ambitious, you can use embroidery to embellish one or more of the blocks, for example with a name or a picture.
