This arrowhead pendant was sawed by hand from 18 gauge sterling silver with a jewelry saw and features a sterling silver overlay, chased edges, convex shape, and rich brushed patina. After sawing the arrowhead shape from a flat 18 gauge sterling silver sheet, I sawed the sterling silver abstract overlay design and used a pierce and cut technique to create the center cut out. This relief design or overlay piece was then soldered to the flat arrowhead using sterling silver solder and an acetylene torch. I used a chasing tool which is essentially a small fine chisel and hammer to create that line pattern along the edges of the arrowhead. After chasing the perimeter design, I hammered the arrowhead on a dabbing block to create the curvature which adds depth and dimension to this pendant along with natural highlights and shadows from light being reflected off the curved surface. The sterling silver was oxidized with potassium sulfides and gently burnished with a wire brush for an antique old rubbed appearance.

The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches long and comes with adjustable genuine leather cord with slip knots. Push or pull the slip knots closer to farther apart to lengthen or shorten the cord for a perfect fit. This pendant can also be ordered with an organic colored leather cord or vegan approved imitation twist leather with a lobster clasp. I can also offer the pendant with a mirror finish, tumbled shiny finish, or natural sterling silver and in mixed metals. For example the overlay design can be made in bronze and soldered to a sterling silver arrowhead.
