This shawl is marked "virgin" as it was the very first woven shawl that I made and I am offering it to you.

 

One-of-a-kind custom made shawl, made on a 7 foot loom with hand dyed and handspun yarns. Each "100% Handmade" shawl that I make is one of a kind and not duplicatable (unless it is a commissioned piece). I handspun each yarn used and begin to weave. There are color variations throughout. This shawl was made using three different yarns of different fiber blends including Merino, bamboo, silk, angelina, and other wool. It is soft and cheerful. The colors are reminiscent of a beach sunset. The accenting yarn is a bulky art spun yarn and highly textured.  

 

This shawl is warm enough to keep the chill off your head and neck but also light enough to layer up without feeling too bulky. Both models are 5'5" and between 180-200lbs. I also make custom shawls with colors of your choice with both handmade yarns and quality commercial yarns. I require a 4 week turnaround minimum for 100% handmade shawls and 2 weeks for commercial yarn shawls. Duplicatable shawls can be made upon request but will generally contain minor variations. 

 

Care instructions:

*this item is made with natural protein fibers and is feltable and should NOT be washed in hot water or scrubbed*

-wash with mild detergent in cool water

-gently squeeze excess water without wringing 

-lie flat to dry or pin on a clothesline

-spin drying is fine as well
