This Forever Bonsai Tree is made from 17 gauge aluminum wire that has been twisted to form both the trunk and the leaves of the tree.  The base for the tree is an actual piece of fossilized oyster shell that is several million years old, when Texas was covered by an inland sea.  The shell comes from the central Texas area, specifically the 9 R Ranch near Lagrange.  The shells were chosen because of the very rough exterior, adding to the visually pleasing form of the Bonsai tree.  With a little dusting now and then, the tree can last a lifetime, no water needed.  The tree is 6.5 inches tall, by 7 inches long, and 5 inches wide.  The tree is numbered and signed by the artist.  (Item T-092)   Note: this tree was made for families that have young children, the wire is very strong.
