The fabric on this book is guaranteed 100% authentic African fabric made in Mali, West Africa. It is a fair trade fabric, and the purchase went to financially help to support the village in Mali where it was made. There are slight irregularities in the material which I believe adds to the charm in this handmade fabric.The motif is black African masks outlined in a beautiful metallic gold design all on a gorgeous red background.

I have ribbon bound 160 pages (front & back) of 90# natural white acid free watercolor paper which is suitable for many different media, and lies nicely open to make working in a pleasure. This book is sewn with a handwaxed red cotton thread and tied with 3 black grosgrain ribbons. As with all my ribbon bound books refills can be purchased, just contact me if you would like one, switching them out is as simple as tying a knot!
