All of the glass art in this online gallery is handcrafted and designed by me in my studio located in Ocean Shores, Washington. Some of the pendants are made by fusing transparent glass and dichroic glass flakes together. Modern dichroic glass was developed by NASA for use in their in-space flight programs. Multiple ultra-thin layers of transparent oxides of such metals as titanium, chromium, aluminum, zirconium, or magnesium; or silica are vaporised by an electron beam in a vacuum chamber. The vapor then condenses on the surface of the glass in the form of a crystal structure. The coating that is created is very similar to a gemstone and by careful control of thickness, different colors are obtained. Each pendant is different, and each pendant comes with a .925 sterling silver chain.
