FYI, I have discovered that knitting cashmere is like handling a chinchilla.  It's so soft I can barely feel it!

And the cashmere won't bite you!!!!!

Hahahhaha!  But the price will.  $17/tiny ball.  I estimate this scarf will take about 8 balls.  It's a good thing I love Eric.

He is worth it and will be happy to tell you so.

I love knitting with bamboo, too, but it's the same story...  prohibitively expensive!

Kim, you got him figured out in two meetings.   ;)

Sandi, at Lion Brand the cotton bamboo isn't horrible.  $7/skein.  Not like Homespun or something, or like the $3.50 I spent today on a pound of cotton, but $7 for 245 yds of bamboo is better than $17 for 82 yds of 100% cashmere.  I understand why it's so hard to find 100% cashmere & most is mixed into other fibers.  Also why cashmere scarves at department stores are $200+.

I found when I knit the washcloths, that I prefer a better cotton yarn. I was using the Suagr and Cream stuff but after a lot of washings, it doesn't look so great anymore. The better cotton stuff doesn't pill and get all funky looking. Worth the little extra $.

I looked up Sugar & Cream 'cause I'd never heard of it... and they have scented yarn?  I kinda question any yarn company that needs a gimmick like that, y'know?

Peaking in to say, been just swamped this week. Working on a big bid for a tunnel in Rhode Island. Will be delivering the bid this Thursday in Rhode Island. Then Baltimore Friday, and a packed weekend. Looks like we'll sleep sometime next year LOL

Good Luck Andrew...

Good morning everyone, made a terrible mistake yesterday. Grouted one of my new pieces and then forgot about it....THAT is bad, the grout above all the tiles is stone heart, what I should hvae done after an hour is wipe it off a couple times and then let it dry.
Will have to see if I can salvage that tray...sheesh, that will be hard work.
Dummy me.... :P

Oh no!  I hope you can save it!  I have a couple errands and a whole lot around this house.

Right now, though, I really just want to get through this skein of cashmere; I'm curious how much scarf length I'll get out of one ball.  It looks like it might be 1' to 1 ball, so for the length Eric wants, probably 7-8 balls of cashmere.  $136 in yarn for this sucker.  Plus tax.  Wow.
