Technical Help in Creating / Help Finishing Off Jewelry Pieces
« on: January 30, 2014, 03:07:23 PM »
I hope someone can help me with how to finish off my jewelry pieces, specifically necklaces, bracelets, anklets and key chains. I like to work with wire because it is easier for me to handle but when I have completed my design I place a crimp bead on the end, smash it down and clip off the excess. Then I add a jump ring attached to the clasp or sometimes I put the clasp on the string and put the crimp bead on top of that and then smash it down and clip off the excess. But I just don't like the results.

Is there a step I am missing? Is there an easier way to finish off the piece?

Thanks in advance
Jolene

Monika - loved the Totally Mosiac-ed Guitar - you are so talented and I just know it will be fabulous when you are finished.

Debbie - WonderWorks looks like a totally awesome place but I know the Xtreme 360 would not agree with my stomach. I have problems with vertigo sometimes but I think it would be a GREAT place to visit. I know my kids would get a kick out of it.  And we did a handmade Christmas too. My kids actually thought it was a great idea some of the cousins got involved as well.

I just posted an article on seed beading. Hope you will take a look.

Monika, I am so sorry you had that happen. I know from experience the loss and betrayal you feel right now. Stay Warm and Keep on Fighting! Comcast customer service people are *@!#  bad that is for sure.

Started raining here last night and kept up all through the night. Now it is just gloomy and cold. So, I am updating my listings, websites and writing articles :-) Gonna make some soup and watch DVDs later. Just chilling waiting on the sunshine, hopefully, tomorrow, as we are off our campground duties till Monday! Gonna go out and take pictures of the park.

Does anyone know if we can download our product listings into a csv or excel file? And if we can how do I do that? But if not could we in the future?

I'm from Jacksonville and it was 1987 my older kids were just in elementary school and they loved it. Luckily our neighborhood was only out of electricity for about 10 or 12 hours for some people it was a week. Crazy thing is we are now volunteering as campground hosts in Sarasota, Fl this winter last two days bright and sunny in the 70s but a little cool for mom at night. She turned on our little space heater to take the chill off and it stopped working. Spent all day going from store to store trying to find a replacement and was told that ALL of the major retail stores including Walmart, Target, Lowes and Home Depot sent their entire supple of heaters up North last week and wouldn't be getting any in any time soon. We even tried a few of the smaller chains but no luck.

Oh well, what can you do. Hopefully, we won't have too many more nights of cold weather down here. I do worry about my kids though they are all still in Jacksonville.

I use to work the night shift because it paid better but to be honest I have always been a night owl. Now that my mom and I are traveling and volunteering at the Florida State Parks we have different times depending on the park we are working at. Right now we don't have to clean up around here until 11 or 12noon so I am usually up until 2 or 3 working, writing or reading and then up about 10am. I much rather work at night on my jewelry and websites less distractions and during the afternoon and early evening we have to be available for the other campers.

Great idea! Love the earrings and, of course, upcycling is a great way to help the environment.

Hello, everyone. Hope your Friday is going well. My mom and I are settling into our new campground hosting assignment here at Myakka River State Park in beautiful Sarasota, Florida. We have even managed to create some new items that we will be adding to the shop before the end of the month. I added some pics of what we have done this month and a picture of our campsite

Cheers and have a great and productive weekend!
