Good Morning one and all,
It looks as if everyone had a nice 4th.  Glad to see smiling happy vacation people.
Pam, I am glad your computer is back to operating, and the Birthday Trip sounds like a hoot.
Lisa, I am so sorry to read of the pictures, I did the same thing just a couple of days ago, erased the memory card because I pressed the wrong menu option.  YAY ME!

I am in the final stages of setting up the shop, today I actually go and hang the last shelf and put my items in the shop.  Official opening is Tuesday, July 16th, 2013
I will be M.I.A. some more and then in hopes of having some kind of actual schedule again I can be more "present" here.

Have a lovely workweek one and all.

Jewelry / Re: Captured Color Collection

I absolutely love that idea, Kris.  Part of the problem is that the inner rings are not always the same color if I purchase the rings from the same manufacturer in lots.  They also come in specific colors, due to the nature of aluminum and metal in general, dying / coloring it is difficult. I have even tried to do so with alcohol ink. yeah, that doesn't work so good.

Blue Buddha, my favorite maille supplier, is SUPER EXPENSIVE, and I couldn't afford to make them with B3 supplies, which are uniform in color, and high quality materials.  The bracelet above is good quality, has uniform rings and is fun to make. I can do them in sections of color too, my concern, as yours, is the appropriate colors of the month, and making sure my rings are uniform weather I buy them tomorrow or next month.

Hi there, it is a balmy 80 in the house at 5:39 a.m.  Can't sleep, too hot.  Wrote the blog, I guess I'll go watch the sun come up.

Travel adventures are fun to read, I am glad you are safe at home.  Bungee cords can fix a multitude of problems.

The first participating artists has moved into the shop, and I am finding that early morning is the best time to try and do things for the shop.  It is supposed to be 110 degrees outside today, I feel bad for Las Vegas folks.  Whew it is HOT HOT HOT!  I think I can safely say, I am melting.

On my way to hang shelves while it is still cool enough to do so.  The landlords unplugged the window AC unit, so it is stiffing in there until I get a box fan or devise a clever swamp cooler.

Congratulations on the sales and big orders!

I would like to thank all of you for your supportive comments and "You-Can-Do-It Spirit in general.  We don't just teach jewelry classes, other gals teach knitting, crochet, photo composition (How to take a Picture). If they want to learn it, we probably have some one that can teach it.

I'm starting with 1/2 a Shoe String budget and a pencil.  Carbon Copy Sales Receipt Book, and a pocket full of hope and lint.  The website has been completely reworked and looks a bit better now. Link

I have found that the "artistic temperament" is one that I can do without.  I would like people to leave their "artiste" at home, but that ain't happening.  I'm surprised some of these folks can get their heads through the door.

I have put feelers out for more people, Guerrilla advertizing has been fun, but I am finding people want everything for free.  You pay rent to be in the shop, why is that so hard to understand.  We are not a consignment shop, we are a retail venue, we are not a flea market, we are a boutique.  People are just unclear on the concept of spend money to make money.  With no guarantee of sales, it would be asinine to not charge the vendor something, if they make no sales their space is free. NO.  People don't like the 30% of sales either, so I can't win for loosing there.

It is a journey, it is an arduous trek through a mire of nonsense, and I am up to my neck it the muck, but I AM LOVING IT!

I want to see the Super Moon tomorrow night.

Matt, I envy you.  Being a land-locked California girl, I miss the beach and the ocean. We have a river that runs through Boise, but it just isn't the same.

I have a new website, Little Shop of Artists, every artists in the shop save one has bailed on me, so I will be opening with two of us.  Oh boy.  There are things on the site that need to be corrected / edited, but it's up and I am closer than I was yesterday to making this happen.  Tired.  Coffee now.

Good Morning,

Today "Move in" starts in earnest.  Two artists down, two to move in, I am starting with a very empty shop.  Today the carpets get cleaned, tables get set, shelves go up!  This is fun, and frustrating all at the same time, it also a great deal of hard work, but that's good too.

Have a wonderful day one and all.

Good Morning,

Happy Father's Day to Andrew, and all the Dad's and Single Mom's doing double duty!  That is a great picture of the family, so much love, and the turquoise hair streak is fabulous.  I have to call my "Patron" (say it like a Sicilian) later today. I have never called my Dad, "Dad", we have always had nick-names for each other, I don't think he has ever said my name, unless he was really really MAD at me.  Debbi (ybc) will love this, he calls me "Squirrel", explains a lot don't it.

I would also like to apologize for my lack of participation lately.  Some times life is a four-letter word that gets in the way of what one would like to do.  I think I have finally managed to get a schedule back on track.

Everybody sounds like they are having such a good time creating and listing and discovering new endeavors!  Saturday, yesterday I got the Keys to My Dream...  I am so excited, no longer a dream, it is really, really real, and happening.  Keys are kind of like the signature to a contract that doesn't exist, but the unspoken says so much more than I can find words for.

Have a great day.

Debbi, you crack me up, what a fun and wonderful post, love it.  Thank you so much.  Slightly off center?  I don't think I'm anywhere near the middle.  The edge, I dance along it, and I run with scissors, when my Mom isn't watching...
