General Discussion / Re: The Alchemist's Vacation

Yes, trusk4u is correct, I posted this on facebook as well, after a well meaning friend got things a little backwards.

I want to thank you all for your prayers and kind words.  They mean much.

After receiving my bill today, an embarrassing amount of money that I will never see in my life time, I have no choice but to close the shop here and other places as well.  I will not be able to afford it.  In the years that I have been here I have sold four items, all to other artists here.  That's not bad, but it is not good either.  My passion is handmade and I love this site, its shops and its people.  My items are not going to make me a living and they are certainly not going to pay even a utility bill.

This is of course no reflection on the site or anyone, it is just the reality, and it breaks my heart (and my bank account).

Love to all, and thank you again.

Good Morning,

I have been on hiatus for a while, but not by choice.  On October 18th, 2014, I had a Heart Attack.  :-X  A real bona fide Ventricular Fibrillation, they had to shock my heart back in to beating correctly.  I am OK and on the mend, but have other things I have to deal with too, Doctor's Appointments and the like.  I will be on a medicinal regiment for about a year and then medication will be changed for an additional two years under a Doctor's care.  It is a genetic or hereditary problem and would have happened eventually .

In order to deal with this latest monkey wrench in the works, I will be putting The Alchemists Vessel shop on vacation in the next day or two for reorganization and to get my schedule and health up to snuff.  The shop on Etsy will be closed after the last item has expired, I believe that is around December 27 or so.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support, I see my items in Highlights and being shared other places as well, and it that makes me happy.  Thank you, it is appreciated.

Happy Holidays, Joyous New Year, and Great Sales to all.

Alix ~

Thank you all for your replies.

I know this may sound tacky, but the admins might write a gentle note to the "offending vendor" explaining that tagging their items "chainmaille" when it is not chainmaille is not within site policies.

My problem is that unlike here "Chainmaille" is not a specific category on that site, you must actually tag the item with the word.  So the vendors are consciously and purposely misusing the tag.  Annoying.

I'm pouting I know, but I do want to thank you all for your support.  I feel a bit better now.

I don't have pictures, but music, my animals, and finishing a project make me happy.  Sales are always good for a happy mood, too.

Gorgeous, I love all the woodsy outside space.  You did a great job with the boys rooms.  Looks like home.

General Discussion / Color Me Frustrated

Good Morning,

I know it's bad form to whine, but this really chaps my hide, and I know no one here would be so inconsiderate.

I list items on another site, and as we know Chainmaille is a very specific form of jewelry, and does not consist of manufactured chain, pendants, and other items not made of hundreds of tiny rings.

One vendor (and now more have started) tags everything in their shop "chainmaille", it isn't even close.  Why did they do this?  Because the category is empty, myself and perhaps two other shops actually sell maille, and there are not thousands of "jewelry items" to look through on those pages.

It is frustrating, and makes me mad to think that someone is using the tag/category just to be seen. I don't even think they know what chainmaille is.  I did contact the powers that be on the site, and have no idea if anything will happen or not.  If the issue isn't resolved that's one more site I drop, and just one more reason to stay right here.

I love Handmade Artists.

Hi there!  Here is my post for Monika.

* I would like to apologize for not commenting on others posts, I am having a good deal of difficulty with Google and blogger of late.  Have a "service ticket" to which I am awaiting a response.

Here is my Surprise Featured Artist post for Krista Wagner, I just love that "Zentangle Initial".  Neat.

Really?  Rozie's Pearls managed to catch out a Mass Producer?  Wow, I am surprised.

Here is my post for John.  I must apologize, I am having difficulty with my blog and will have to edit this post to include the link to his blog.

Will comment and share others as soon as that feature decides to cooperate.

I am so sorry to read that your scissors attacked you so rudely!  I am very glad and happy to hear that you are OK.  I sliced my finger open with a Rotor Cutter once while trimming fabric, that hurt.  Moving.  What fun.  I may be doing that myself here soon. Looking at Oregon as possible relocation.

Wanted to say a quick howdy, and that an influx of Etsy escapees may be headed this way.  They are playing with the site once again, and have removed several features that people aren't going to like.  The new design removes shop banners and other visual identifiers / "branding" in favor of shop statistics and things that mean nothing to a shopper / customer.  I am on the verge of deleting my store there all together.

Lots of new stores here, great to see you're growing and the site is expanding.  Off to ponder a blog post. Have a grand and lovely day.

Alix i don't know if this will help but I had problems with mine. I couldn't get photobucket to work so i found Cloudinary a lot easier. hope this helps

Thank you Tress, I wish the issue was the image.  The problem seems to be with the html code that places a Text Box beneath the badge image allowing others to grab / take the code and place it [badge] on their blog / site etc...  The image code works, it is the box or grab code text that is not working or disappearing after adding or editing the code.

Good Morning, here is my post for Larissa and Erik.  Off to comment on other posts now.   :)

*Still working on the Badge problem.  For Google+ users (Pam)  I can still see Larissa's grab code on her blog.
