Just so everyone knows we added Facebook login to It's Better Handmade, that way it's easier than ever now to sign in and add posts or comments to others post. The comments will automatically be posted to facebook as well if you leave the box checked on the FB comment form.
This should really be a great addition to IBH and we really encourage everyone to share their posts of their work on IBH and comment on others posts. This will be great exposure for all!!!!

Handmade Highlights / Valentines! Handmade Style~
« on: January 19, 2014, 02:38:40 PM »

I know a lot of our members advertised with us in the past on It's Better Handmade through Project Wonderful. We'll we closed our adbox with Project Wonderful and are handling the advertising direct on IBH.
You can read more here
Anyway, we decided that we wanted to offer some very affordable advertising for our Handmade Artists' friends, so we created a coupon of 50% off. So if you're interested in purchasing advertising on IBH, just click the link above and follow it to the payment page. You can set up a monthly ad or a recurring ad, that will continue until you cancel. All payments are handled through paypal.
The retail price on there now is $10.00 a month, which is about a 3rd of the going rate for a site like this for advertising. We've been doing some research on this and there are sites out there that have less traffic than us and get $30 a month. So, for now, we are going to keep the price low, but I do see the price going up in the future.
Anyway if you jump in now you can get an ad for 50% off of the $10 or $5 a month, which is really a great deal.
Once you set up your ad and go to checkout you'll see a place for a coupon code, enter handmadeartists, one word no spaces as the code. If you set it up as a subscription, you can lock in the $5.00 a month price forever.
Anyway IBH is able to stay free to our members through our sponsors, and we look forward to all of your support.

General Discussion / Yardseller is no more.
« on: August 20, 2013, 04:29:06 PM »
Well sorry to say to those of our members who are on yardseller, that they are closing shop.
It is not as easy as it looks to make it in this business, so I'm actually very proud our success to this point and the fact that we made it 4 years.
There is something to be said about slow and steady growth and have a stick to it attitude.

Sounds like that dumped too much money into something that would not sustain their investors expectations.

Handmade Highlights / Latest Highlight! Some Steampunk Love
« on: August 18, 2013, 06:55:05 PM »

Handmade Highlights / Lampwork Any One?
« on: July 18, 2013, 07:41:28 AM »
My latest highlight comments are welcome.
We really need to keep these highlights going, I know they take a little time to create. But it is great for digging old items up and bringing them back to the top!

Well just to show you that we are moving forward, we have a mock up of a new design. This design will be responsive, which means that the shop view will automatically change to fit and size screen from large to small, including ipads and cell phones.

I dare say, any thoughts?

Sorry scared to put it out there for critiques there are a couple of things that we will tweak regardless. One thing is where it says by somebody in the product boxes, the will be the shop name, but I don't think we'll keep the big purple block there.

Anyway, let's hear it good and bad. Better now than latter :D

Handmade Highlights / Time to get some more Highlights Going!!
« on: April 28, 2012, 07:45:57 PM »
Looks like everyone has forgotten about the highlights LOL, or is just too busy lately. Just so everyone knows Google is indexing the highlights well. Every time a new highlight is posted, the title, description, and keywords become part of the Google search within about 24 hours and become one more way for our site and your work to be found. So time to get creative with some more highlights! Thanks everyone for your support  8)
