Narrina - congrats!!!!

Jeanne - anyone can learn to draw!  seriously - I was told for years that I had no talent for it!  Well, I don't have a natural talent for drawing, but with the right teacher, I really believe anyone can learn to draw.  I had taken a couple of classes through continuing ed and another in my teens - all 3 said I had no talent - took drawing and painting classes in college - and became pretty good at it!  It's a matter of learning how to look at things and knowing different techniques.  It does require time!

I agree, it's never too late to go to college!  I graduated at 46!  i really enjoyed it for the most part - being around all the younger people,  I didn't really know - well ok I couldn't decided out of a dozen things of what I wanted to be when I grew up either!  Actually, I wanted to be an artist, but had been told many times that I had no talent, and "you can't make a living at it".  Well, after being in school for a few years, I had a few people in 2 diff classes ask me why I wasn't majoring in art!!!!!!!  I did switch majors - but not to art - did what is a basically a liberal arts degree where I got to choose what I took - lots of drawing and painting classes.  It helped me get an awesome job as a web developer - they wanted someone with an art background to make it aesthetically pleasing!  That lasted 2 yrs and then I got sick and had to quit!  Took me 8 yrs to get my bachelors degree.  btwn 2 kids and elderly dad, and my own health I had to limit it to 3 classes a sem.    Art degree wants too many art history classes - blech -
If I had the energy, I'd love to go take some more classes!
as for the no talent in art - just had lousy teachers!!!!  I really  think anyone can learn to draw with the right teacher - just a matter of learning to look at things and knowing different techniques.  I'm still not great at it - and don't draw much anymore - I mostly wanted to paint.
I got a B.U.S!!! hehehe I just love that!  Bachelor of University Studies!

Mostly  Hobby Lobby and Michaels for just about everything - love those coupons!   There are a couple of local bead stores here that I will visit from time to time - but I have a pretty good supply of beads!
Throw tools away? throw any crafting item away?  What?  nope cant do that either!!  It would have to really be broken before I'd throw it away - if it can't be fixed!  Even bits of glass get kept - well if it's under an inch it usually gets put in a recycle pile.
Will buy some items on line when I can't find it here in town.

Hello everyone:

I'm Kris, and I'm soooooo happy to know that there others out there with crafters ADD besides me!

I really have been creating things since I was young.  Love to paint.
among the list of things I have done, (some currently off and on):  crocheting, knitting, beading, sewing (clothes and quilts), woodworking, painting, oil paints, painting on wood, glass ornaments, glass pendants.  Besides photographing items - photography - have sold a few prints, love macros of flowers

My love is painting with oils, but I seem to have developed a sensitivity to them.  Wake up next day with my eyes all puffy and feeling like I have a major hangover.  That was without any turps.  Bought some water based "oils" but haven't tried them yet!  Don't especially like acrylics - they dry toooo fast here and don't like the extender medium.  Now that the weather is warmer, I may try some painting outside and see if I can get away with it.

Currently and for the past 5 years, painting on glass ornaments.  Painting on glass tiles for pendants and also stained glass.  Pretty much one of a kind items.

Have a shop on etsy and ArtFire - but mostly listing on artfire.

I have 2 grown children, both married and one grandson.  Daughter and grandson live far far way in NC.  Hopefully they will be moving closer in Aug to Colorado Springs.

Thank you for this forum - it's pretty cool!
