I'm still drinking my coffee, while perusing the internet, I should be making jewelry like mad, (but I'm not) for the upcoming show in Bandon OR... So busy doing yard work and fixing sewer issues in the laundry room... I had to crawl under the house...(I need to lose more weight) lol

Hope everyone enjoyed their Solstice! I went to the beach, had a nice bonfire and watched the sun sink into the sea, as the moon was rising... it was magical.

I laughed at the mental image of Larissa chasing a groundhog. It reminded me of the time I was camping in Oak Canyon near Sedona Arizona, and chased a skunk that was trying to get into my food.... I was barefoot, in my skivvies, chasing this skunk with a flashlight..... Mid stride, I came to my senses.....

Art for shock value is still art.  It's not always good art, like Matt said.

And Eric pointed something out to me when I showed him.  It may be art, and it may be valid to create art that's ugly and offensive and shocking.  But that art doesn't necessarily belong on a greeting card.  His exact initial reaction to the card:  "That's disgusting."

And for point of reference, Eric is atheist.

Don't get me wrong, this card offends me too.  It made me cringe.

That said, I'm 100% for free speech.  I'm pro-free speech to the point that if the KKK needed someone to fight for them to march, I'd fight for them.  And I'm Jewish.  I recognize that they're morons, but I also recognize that they're allowed to be morons, that they're allowed to hate me for no good reason, and that they're allowed to vocalize that hate.  And I'll protect to my dying breath their right to do so.  It's that important to me.
I agree Larissa! and remember, everyone has the right to vote with their wallet.... If there are few or no buyers, it doesn't stay. That all being said, I am not ever going to buy that card....
