Perfectionist?, perfectionist?,I don't know what youre talking about. There are no perfectionists in here. Ha ha ha ha ha, It took a long time for me to start showing some of my work cause it wasn't "good" enough. So bravo to any one who shows off their imperfect work. (including me)

Me too! I want to learn lampwork. That's the great thing about artists always wanting to learn new skills.

Good tip about ring closure for sellability I usually try to wear my pieces for a while to check durability and how they feel (plus it gives me a chance to show them off)

Hi Everyone; My name is Matt Vegar I live on the beautiful Oregon coast. I restarted making jewelry about a year ago after doing the Julia Cammeron book The Artist Way and it awakened my desire to make beautiful stuff.                       I am a mostly self taught artist, (One lapidary class in high school). I am working in lapidary and wire wrapping. I am still learning how to computer, but I have a site on ETSY and I am also on twitter (thats how I found you guys) @igophergold I have dabbled in maille by making my own rings out of copper (repurposed house wire) but thats a lot of work!

Thanks for the kind words. A note about some comments, the wire is all copper (mostly reused) and I actually didnt use a draw plate (being too lazy to make one) I just used my fingers to draw out the wire and that seemed to work well for me.

Thanks I am particularly proud of the chain which is double viking knit of about 30 gauge wire salvaged from an old defunct extension cord.   Yes the stone is malachite.

I have about a dozen works in progress for my ETSY site, but in the meantime Canopy Gallery promoted my necklace currently exhibited in Spring Time: Rhapsody in Green, showing through end of May in North Bend.

What is your opinion on branding? Will eventually want to include freeform pieces like this with my dragonclaws.
