I've been pretty out of the loop on what is going on over at Etsy these past few months. My husband got transfered from British Columbia, Canada to northern Kentucky. We've been busy moving, buying a house, moving in, etc, etc. I also haven't had any time to work on my business in any way. I have tried to pop into the forum here and over at Etsy to stay in the loop of the happenings and all. I just became aware of the changes over at Etsy and am really starting to wonder if they are a good fit for me at all. My shop sits empty because I haven't had time for it and now I am really not enthusiastic about getting going over there again. I'm even contemplating giving my shop address for here in my shop announcement over there. Even if that may get my shop shut down. Etsy just leaves me with a bad feeling. It's really quite sad that they have chosen the path they are on. Everyone who is here, whether it's your main shop or not, I wish you much success and may we help to make Handmade Artists the place people go for handmade.

Or even just cash as a payment option. That way, for those of us who make one of a kind items, it shows up as a sale.

Hey Andrew, I have a suggestion. I don't know if this would be possible to implement or  not but I would like a payment option of cash as well. That way when I have someone local making a purchase I can switch the payment to cash and have the transaction show up as a sale in my shop. It would be a nice option to have I think. I tried playing around with various options of creating a coupon code etc. but Paypal won't allow me to purchase my own stuff. Yet it would be nice to have the sale show up in my shop rather than just deactivating the listing. Thanks for all you do and I do understand if this is not something you choose to offer.

I guess my question is, can I make it look like a sale here in my shop even though the transaction happened in person and not thru paypal? If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks for any and all help!!

I understand what some are saying about wanting color, but the fact is the cleaner the site, but better.  That is what sellers are looking for, and white really makes the item pictures pop....
I know that bright white hurts my eyes, so I have dimmed my computer screen, which helps me while still enjoying my surfing.   We need to check out other sites, and while not comparing ourselves to them, or copying them, we do need to see what makes them successful and use that for ourselves.

I second this! White looks clean and modern. I find the new look much more appealing than this one. I am really looking forward to the change and am excited about focusing all of my energy on my shop here.

I really like the new look Andrew. I am in the process of moving from Canada to the US so have not had time for my shop here at all (or making any glass goodies for that matter) but I am excited about the new look and working my shop here again once I am settled. Thanks for creating such a wonderful place her at Handmade Artists!!!
