Thanks Larissa, I'm about to do an installation of them in Manchester, UK, so have rather a lot of ideas for them!

They are small too, measuring, Height - 50mm / 2 inches, Width - 70mm / 2 3/4 inches , Depth - 10mm / 3/8 inch

I wanted to share images of my new glass hedgehogs, with screen-printed designs.

I've been up all night editing pics, so please excuse any mistakes!

Hi there, apologies if this if the wrong place to put this....

I'm a glass artist up in Edinburgh and one of the things I work with is water-jet cutting glass into animals (so far I've done hares and foxes) with my next creature being a hedgehog.

My project is to install several hundred glass hedgehogs into the Manchester Craft & Design Centre.  This is a huge amount of work and cost so I have launched a page on a crowdfunding website to raise the money needed to cut the glass.

I'm looking for help with this and in exchange, every pledge from GBP£5 upwards can choose from a number of rewards, including their own glass hedgehog sent to them (International shipping is included in the price!)

The deadline to raise the money is only in 10 days time and if the goal isn't reached then no money will be taken from backers, no rewards will be given and the installation will be greatly reduced in size.

Please check it out and share with any interested parties - http://bloomvc.com/project/Road-Hogs-An-Installation-of-New-Glass-Sculpture

Many thanks,

Rachel x

Introduce Yourself / Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello Everyone,

I came back, after 2 years away, destracted by other things, mainly running a business and Etsy shop etc.

Anyway, I can usually only concentrate on one forum at a time, so please bear with me if I disappear again over the busy run up to Christmas!

Oh, yeah for those who don't know, I'm a glass artist, specialising in kiln-formed glass, based in Edinburgh, Scotland!

(Peeks round the door)

Um, so I guess I should re-introduce myself as i have no idea when the last time I logged in was!

Hi!!!

My name is Rachel and I'm a full time glass artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I have been crazy busy over the last few months making my biggest piece yet, a 175cm tall glass hare, who has just been installed in Perth Museum and will be there till Christmas time.

Anyway, thought i'd gingerly try and get back into my forums as i've missed the contact from the outside world!

Oh Teresa, it really isn't, it's taken on one of my white jewelry busts lying on my front wall with the cat trying to bat them off!  It was a nice sunny day so I did quite a few shots to take advantage of it!

He he, thanks matey, I used abour 4 different blues and clear in the Police Boxes as the ones in Edinburgh are quite a specific colour which I think I got with a mixture of copper blue and steel blue, though don't ask me which one it is in the picture!

Okies, so I love the space invaders too, but quick question, do you think I should colour in their eyes black?  They are indented and I'm just not sure whether I should or not, I'm also being a bit dense as to which colours to use as presumably it would of been very basic ones in the beginning, I can't remember my DOS versions colours!
