Jewelry / One More
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:40:38 PM »
I just finished this and haven't posted it yet.  I think I really like it.  I'm calling it Look Back In Time.  It is another Steampunk piece.  I have to decide what the chain will look like and what kind of link I will use for it to hang from the chain.  I don't think I want a plain ring.  Will welcome any suggestions of something that has a vintage look.

Jewelry / New bracelets

It's been a while so here are some new bracelets.  I still have to post them to my shop.
First is my newest Steampunk piece,
Clocker spaniel Bracelet
This is a mod sterling bracelet watch that was no longer working.  I mounted a portion of a pocket watch movement with a Cocker spaniel from a vintage tie clasp, portions of wrist and pocket watch movements and faces and a vintage cameo.  The result, a clockwork dog bracelet.

The upcycled bracelets are:
2 is Bird on a Nest bracelet.  A vintage bird pin (circa 1930s - 40s) and a vintage flower earring on a vintage wicker clamper bracelet.

3 is Tailored Modern.  The plain, gold toned bracelet had a broken watch suspended from it.  I added 3 vintage buttons from 70s or 80s and a single earring.

4 Flower Bangle.  A vintage clamper bracelet with 3 vintage single flower earrings and a vintage single butterfly earring.

YouTube has not ruled on my dispute about my blocked video yet.  So, I decided to make a new one.  Please watch, like and share.  Viral might be a bit ambitious, but a few dozen would be a nice start.
Here's the link.

Jewelry / Another necklace
« on: December 24, 2011, 03:45:49 AM »
Here's my latest Steampunk necklace.  I call it SmilePunk.
It's a unisex necklace on a 24" chain.  It is made from a vintage plumbing valve with a vintage alarm clock piece in the center.  The eyes are parts of 2 vintage watch movements with buttons.  The nose is the winding key from an old alarm clock attached to another part.  The mouth is a watch face and the eyebrows are a re-purposed portion of an old pin.

I am probably not alone in this.  I love jewelry, I have collected all sorts of strange and fun jewelry that I love for many years.  Now, I never wear any of it.  Every day, I wear something I made in the hope of finding new customers.  I have given out many cards because I wear my things, but I miss the old familiar friends sitting in their lonely boxes and drawers.  I realize there is only one solution, I must sell everything in my shop so my favorite old standbys can see the light of day.  Please help!  ;D
