« on: March 27, 2014, 01:56:00 AM »
Since I just moved to Colorado Springs, I really don't know anybody here except my daughter & her 2 kids.  Would be nice to have a "crafty" friend here.

The buyer shows as a verified buyer in PayPal, but no address.

General Discussion / Pictures of an eye, the inside of an eye!!
« on: August 24, 2013, 04:44:03 AM »
These are pictures of the inside of an eye, so fair warning if things like this make you quezzy, don't go any further!  They aren't bloody, though.
I have a fascination with x-rays, MRI's, etc of almost anywhere on the body, but I have wanted to be able to see  inside  an eye, like a Dr does, for many years.

I may not always be able to tell exactly what I'm looking at, but, they still fascinate me.  These are pictures of Kai's eye, before and after his 1st surgery, and I thought I'd share them in case anyone else has this kind of fascination with the human body, especially the eye.
This is about the closest I've come to actually looking into an eye.
Upper left, Kai's good eye.  Upper right, the "sick" eye before the 1st surgery
bottom 2 pictures were taken June 10th, of his right eye after surgery to clean out his eye in May and after his retina was reattached (June 5th)  Oh yes, the pictures do get bigger if you click on them!

I can't explain much on this bottom one, except it was also taken June 10th, and I believe that the dark mark in the upper left corner is from the surgery, sort of like scar tissue, and I could be wrong about that! I'll have to ask him again and get back on this one!

Art / Mystic Monday Watercolor Painting
« on: June 30, 2013, 03:33:19 AM »
LOL glad it sort of worked out that I came home on a Monday which helped lead to a title for this one, as it's based in reality and fantasy.  4th in my "On the Bus" series is,
Mystic Monday

The next two have virtual mats just for an idea of what it may look like in an oval mat

Art / New Paintings
« on: June 25, 2013, 11:26:11 AM »
I've been painting on material lately (not done yet) and when I was doing some shopping for a few supplies a few weeks ago I found a small pad of watercolor paper at a great price.  I took about 250 pictures on the way home from Colorado so these were all inspired from my trip on the bus.

What do you think of
1. the painting itself
2. the name
3 price

#1  On The Road (Again)

#2 Oh the Stories They Could Tell

#3 Untitled the "hill" is called Wagon Mound, but I'm not sure I want to name it that, any ideas??

Each one is 4" x 6", I was thinking of pricing them somewhere around $20 to 25.

General Discussion / Healing Prayers and wishes needed.
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:49:41 AM »
I apologize for being mia for so long and then showing up with this request, but this is the one place I fell like it will be ok to do so.
I'm sorry this is so long.............................

2 weeks ago my wonderful 13 yr old grandson Kai, broke out in a rash (hives?), and they cleared up by the next morning.  He broke out again, a little worse, they cleared up again. 3rd time he broke out,  they went into his right eye.  He basically hasn't been able to see out of that eye since.  Eye Dr was treating him for iritis,  did a bunch of blood tests (strongly suspecting an auto immune disorder).  1st he was on an allergy eye drop, along with a bunch of other meds.  Then a prednisone eye drop got added.   This past Monday, those got upped to once an hour, along with a drop to dilate his eye (just 2 x a day).  He went back to the eye Dr Thursday, and because there is no improvement in his vision, the dr said to keep doing the prednisone drops once an hr.   this alone scares me, after 10 days and especially after 3 days of once an hr, the drops should be slowly discontinued or very carefully monitored, as they can actually start doing damage.  He's supposed to keep doing them once an hour until the 15th, and as far as I know doesn't see the eye Dr until then.  He also has an appointment to see an allergist that day too.   He'll have to be off his allergy med from the 8th so they can do some allergy tests - on his first visit!

2 Dr's are thinking it may be auto immune related,  me - thinking, maybe allergy, maybe both.

His mom Nichole and I need strength, so does he, but he needs healing.
I'm the one at home with him handing him these drops once an hour that sting!  He actually is dealing with it all pretty well, but I don't think he really understands the very possible gravity of the situation.
Having access to my laptop helps the day go by nicer!
So, your prayers, thoughts, or what ever you may do will be greatly appreciated,
Thank you all in advance.
Miss everyone, hopefully will be back on a regular basis soon.

General Discussion / Oil diffuser?
« on: December 26, 2012, 02:40:59 AM »
I need to go out sometime on Wed - and since I had to put off my "Christmas" with my son, I decided to get a nice oil diffuser and paint the glass - but, honestly I have no idea what is a good brand.  Any suggestions?

General Discussion / Color Choices - your input is greatly appreciated!
« on: December 16, 2012, 02:56:08 PM »
Last weekend my grandson informed me that his little sister (almost 3) wants a stuffed pony for Christmas.  finally got a pattern for one - but here's the tricky part she wants one that is red, green and pink!
I thought ok, that can be done - just need the right colors.  Without buying more material - something I don't need - this is what I came up with.

1.

2.

3.

4.
or
5.

For some reason the pink doesn't show up very well on the red, one is a light pink, the other is a darker pink.  My sewing machine has a variety of patterns - not really embroidery - which I thought about dong by hand, but at this pint I don't have time to hand embroider it.   So I was thinking about sewing the patterns on the red and green in pink, she also loves flowers.

I also have pics of a light green corduroy with the red and pinks but I like the darker green - it's a suede cloth and the red is flannel.

what do you think???? or none of the above?
Thanks for any input!

Site Support / [ON A LIST] Manage products page, editing tags and listing
« on: November 29, 2012, 09:52:11 PM »
Yes, I did list all those terms under one heading because it's all connected.
Sort of throwing a monkey wrench into the works here - and we're talking about some fairly extensive changes - so...................throwing this out there for discussion -
After spending  6+ hours adding in 3 tags, and two sentences in about half  my listings in both shops, going back & changing the wording & tags, and then going back and deleting the added text and tags,  I decided I have to ask.

1.  Is there a way to make the manage listing pages more efficient? as in could we return to the page we were on and not have to click through a bunch of pages to get back to where we were - or at lest have all the page numbers show so we could just click on that one page.  Personally, I have never used the search feature at the top of the page - could we have it somewhere else (or gone) and have more items per page?
2.  A global editor - at least for adding or subtracting tags would be so nice
3.  Listing a new item  - I admit, one of the things about ArtFire I really liked was the new listing page, it was just that - one page.

One of the 1st jobs I had was working in a  "garment" factory - eventually working with the production manager - part of my job was doing time studies on different parts of the garment construction.   I became very aware of how to do something more efficiently., sometimes it can be as simple as moving something 2 inches closer!
I only have 22 pages in one shop and 13 in the other with a combined total of 130 items.   I cannot imagine doing what I did with a lot more items.  As it is, I only did about half of the listings. If you start adding up all the clicks one has to make in order to make any additions or deletions to numerous listings, it adds up.  Each click usually only takes a second - sometimes longer depending on how things are running - but they add up!
I realize that as I'm get older, I am slowing down - and being able to do something as efficiently as possible starts becoming even more desirable.   Love cut & paste!

I was surprised at the lack of items when I searched for "sale", or "cyber Monday".

I do realize this is fairly extensive - but I wanted to put this out here for  discussion.   And since I can't get the Secret Kangaroo to spill the beans - I know you guys have something cooking - but no idea what it may be!

Being able to post this, without fear, is such a wonderful thing!  Kimberly & Andrew - you two know I love you guys and I'll be here no matter what the answer or decision is!  I can only imagine what would happen if I posted something like this on etsy!

Site Support / [ON LIST] Coupons
« on: November 22, 2012, 10:29:20 PM »
I was setting up coupons and wanted to use the same wording for them in both of my  shops, but that doesn't seem to work.

I tried using blackfriday, in both shops and was given the message that it already exists.  So, I guess that means only one person on all of HAS can use a certain word and nobody else?
Since some of the coupons I create are for a specific time period and there isn't a way to control that, except for deleting it, if I want to use that wording again, I can't.    For me, it's a little frustrating.

For instance one of the codes I set up is rocknroll (just made that up) - that was for a certain weekend, (I haven't deleted it) - so basically it's still active - and if someone found an old post about it, they could go in and use it!  I don't want to delete it, because I would like to be able to use it again.
So, my questions are, is there a way we could set a time period on a coupon & then reactivate it? and could we be able to use a coupon that we or someone else has used?
I hope all that makes sense!
