I'm in a rural area.  I have to say that I have the best route drivers.  Even the sub is just as good as the regular guy.  I've never had a package delayed or go missing.  For pick-ups, I have a Rubbermaid "tub" on the porch.  If it's nice out, I leave my packages on top. If it's really windy or rain/snowing, they know to look inside.

My regular driver has an extra added touch.  He leaves a Milk Bone for my dog with any packages he delivers.

Although I feel naked without my wedding ring, I also feel like something is missing if I don't have earrings in.

I think I'm one of our best "ads".   I wear the chokers and moccasins or boots.  When people ask where I got them from, I say he/I made it/them, and give them our card.  Not only have gotten orders that way, there were requests for custom orders too.

What totally floored me is that Amazon let her open an account using your name and your email address.  If I remember correctly, I had to agree that the information I gave them was true and correct.

Then they demand you complete the registration?!

Larissa, is that even legal?

Monika, I'll be glad when you can refund her money and be shed of her.

I would have told her that you didn't have an Amazon account and didn't not want to create one just to accept her payment since you had no plans on using it in the future.

Can you use the materials you bought for her order for something else?  If so, I'd tell her that enough is enough and cancel her order.

From years of selling on eBay, I have learned all the scams buyers pull.  She sounds like a scammer to me.

Not to mention a royal PITA!

I'm in a team that has many members with shops on Zibbit that they are really happy with.  It looks pretty good.

With Etsy letting more and more resellers in, AND they are showing similar items to yours when the buyer goes to check out, it's getting hard to compete.

Monika,

I would NEVER allow a buyer to dictate my shop policies.  We accept PayPal and USPS money orders.  It is not your fault she can't use her PayPal account.  I'm beginning to wonder if she even has one.  There is also no way I will believe that within the past month she has been unable to get to a bank, post office, or anywhere else to be able to send you a payment.  I would have flat out told her NO about opening an Amazon account just to accommodate her.

As for payment for custom made orders.  We learned years ago never to buy materials for custom orders until we have the payment in full.  At first we took 50% down.  But too many times we take that money and buy the special items they wanted.  Never failed that a week later, they changed their mind and wanted to cancel the order.  We changed our policy that not only was 100% required down, but there would also be NO refunds once the work has started.  The boots and moccasins are made to the tracings of the buyer's feet.  The chance of someone else being able to wear that identical size if slime to none.

I would definitely send it with all precautions to protect yourself.  Insured, signature required, etc.  If she's this rude now, I'd hate to see what she'd be like if something went wrong.

Just thought of something.  Wonder if she's not home when they try to deliver, if she'll pick it up at the PO, or just have it sent back.  I have a very uneasy feeling about this whole transaction.

The temps are going up and down again.  It was 50 yesterday, but didn't make it out of the 30's today.  In 24 hours (Wednesday morning to Thursday morning), we had over 6 inches of rain.  This whole area either has, or will be flooded.

From my post in that thread, I had a newbie convo me and ask about HA.  Sounds like she's pretty interested.

Teresa,

Not so sure you'd want to come back to Chicago right now.  The weather has been wacky. Only in the 40's one day.  In the 60's the next.  Then back to the 40's.

They're talking possibly 4" of rain in the next 24 hours.  I live in northern IL off the Fox River.  We're already under an indefinite flood warning.  So this is not welcome news.

Thing is, I still can see me living anywhere else.

I found a whole Rubbermaid bin filled with items from a past craft show.  Going to measure them and get them listed.

In between that, I have 3 cats and a dog to take care of.  A few loads of laundry, and a lot of branches to clean up from Sunday night's storm to clean up in the yard.

Main thing I'm going to do is find the ambition to get all this done.  :P

Its' miserable here.  Been raining for days.  Yesterday, we had close to 2 inches and are now in a flood advisory.  I live just blocks from a river.

The temps haven't gotten out of the low 40's, and aren't expected to until Sunday.  They're talking freeze warnings possible.

What happened to spring?

Thanks for looking!

Nice to know it's showing up.  Both hubby and I looked on our computers, and neither found it.

I was a little disappointed when I did a Google search today, only to find that our Handmade Artists shop does not appear.  Our Etsy shop and Facebook page do.  But not Handmade Artists.  I even did a search using a specific item title, and it only shows our Etsy shop.

When we first signed up, we did.  Now, nada.  Has something changed?
