Absolutely adorable all, Larissa, and what a brood!  ;)

Here's my Mosi (she's a very informal cat, so she prefers to be called Mo). Her tireless assistance in the workshop is invaluable ... (http://i40.tinypic.com/mmeijt.jpg)

Wow what wonderful little critters!  I will post my pics of my Jaz cat when I get home - and oh yeah I recently acquired a parakeet - she needed a new home as her owner was moving across county and didn't feel as tho she would make it ok.

tarantulas are so cool - my dad  used to catch them and bring them home for us to look at - we'd let them crawl up our arms - they spent one night with us and then he took them back out to where he found them.

CJ - is Kissy Maine Coone???  love that furry tummy!

This is the best picture of our Scottie girl "Dakota". She is every bit the terrier-stubborn, but sweet!!! We took her "temporarily" along with her brother about 9 years ago from a friend. Her brother passed away a couple years ago.

She's looking to see what is going on in the neighborhood. There is usually someone out or maybe some deer passing by.

This is Farrah. She is a Dachshund/Jack Russell mix. We got her a few years ago when her owner went to law school. She is a real sweetheart!

She loves her toys!

These are all the beads I've collected since I began making jewelry a few years ago, and you're right, I have way too many of them. When I first started making jewelry, I thought I had to have so much more inventory at craft shows than I actually needed or could sell. I've taken lots of my original collection apart since those early days, and back into the containers the beads went.

I figure all I need are dozens and dozens of eager customers waiting to buy each and every thing I make, and maybe I could empty a container or two ...  ;D

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah,  you had to do a big hairy CLOSE UP of the tarantula?!  Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I love, love, love the rest, though!  And what's the guy hanging from the shower curtain rod?  He almost has a Cayman face, except not as vicious looking.  And the little orange guy on the rock?  What's he?  I like him too.  And the colors of that snake on the scale!

I'd better stop or I'll just be raving about all of them.

I used to work in the reptile house at Brookfield Zoo, and let me tell you Gina, I'm totally impressed at how healthy all your reptiles look. So many people try to keep them and kill them because they don't bother to learn what they need. You've obviously done your research and practice good, healthy reptile care.

I used to have poisonous snakes and Brazilian cockroaches on my run at the zoo and got up close and personal with all of them, but the one creature that made me break out into a cold sweat each time I opened its cage was a tarantula that was off display and behind the scenes. Poor little thing, he never did anything to deserve my fear and loathing, he never even moved one time when I was near him, but he freaked me out anyway. My Mother was always afraid of spiders and  passed that little phobia on to me, but I have an undying love and appreciation of all creatures great and small ... I just don't want to be face to face with a few of them. ;)

Same place I got my fear!  (my mom, though, not yours)

And yeah, I hate it that people buy so many reptiles thinking they're "easy" just because they don't need a litterbox or leash, and then don't care for them properly.

My sister's got a bearded dragon that's the healthiest one most vets have seen (she's a vet herself) because she cares for it properly.

I have gone back and edited in details.

Older pictures of my Leachies~ they are much larger now...

Older pictures of my African Fat Tailed Geckos

Amelanistic, born with stumpy tails (I got them for free for this reason).  Because this is a birth defect they will not regenerate their tails.

Walter~ Normal Fat Tailed Gecko

Older pictures of my Leopard Geckos

Pearl~
(http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh240/MrsWTownsend/Leos/arrival09-04-081year005.jpg)

No name yet~ lost it's tail so I got it for free also (they regenerate their tails over time if they drop them but they do not grow back with the original coloration and patterning)  Same breeder as the Amel Fatties
(http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh240/MrsWTownsend/Leos/P1010002.jpg)

Love all of these pet pics -- especially the cold-blooded critters!  I only have one cold-blooded critter and he's currently sitting next to me on the couch dropping spaghetti noodles into his mouth.  Very refined!

Ok these guys are too cute (even Mrs Townsends critters) tho I wouldn't own most of hers :P
 Here are my kids

This is Calypso, a Newfoundland mix, about 9 years old. He is a foundling that my sister adopted. The first time I saw him I knew he would be mine someday... so when my sis told me she had to give him up, I drove to california to get him... I've had him in my life for about 7 years.

Introducing her Royal Highness;
Thistle, doing what she does best.. (when she is not demanding that I let her in or out of the house) Ahhh the life of a cat butler (sigh)... that is the dogs bed she has taken over.

This is Tater;  he is my roomates dog and even tho the pic makes him look mean, he is just a very! very! active (and sweet) dog... so it's hard to get a pic of him sitting still...

I'm not too sure exactly what the breed mix Tater is, but he is about half the size of a normal pit (I just call him a pocket pit)

I love the names you chose for your babies, Matt, especially Tater!
He is my roomies dog, and his original name was Gator, but my roomie didn't like that so "Tater" it is. My roomie is an advocate for the local womans shelter and Tater was abandoned by her owner while escaping from an abusive husband who threatened to destroy the dog if she left it there...
Calypso came to me with his name, and Thistle told me her name when I picked her up to decide whether I wanted her or one of her brothers... she dug her claws into my shirt, and said "my name is Thistle" and I was supposed to take care of her :-*

Hunter didn't tell me his name, but he told me he was mine the same way.  I went to the shelter and was playing with all the cats & kittens, and when I went to hand Hunter off to my boyfriend at the time, he dug his claws into my shirt and wouldn't let go.  So he came home with me.

Our cats are weird.  I just wanted to point that out.  Catimus (the girl) is constantly finding places to burrow:

And the boys have appropriated one of my stuffed animals.  The funny thing is that this particular stuffed animal is one that my sister bought me years ago because it looked a little like Meg (the dog).  It looks so terrible because it's been through the wash.

Mo picked us out much the same way. I'm not allowed in shelters because I would want many more animals than we could handle, so my husband and father went to pick out a cat for me a few months after our Kisa passed away.

My husband told the lady at the shelter they were looking for a kitten, and the crafty lady led them through the adult cat cages first. There in the room, she let a few of the cats out of their cages. My husband said he had never seen so many gorgeous cats in one room before. My 80 something year old father sat on the floor, and seconds later, Mo crawled up into his lap and nestled down good. My father looked at my husband and said that was the cat I would want.

She never sat in my dad's lap again after we got her home, and for the first several months, she wouldn't have anything to do with our laps, either. Slowly but surely, we won her over and she's a world class lap sitter now.

Just goes to show you that cats are crafty. They adopt us, we don't adopt them.

Thanks Joan. Our calico, Kisa, was awesomely beautiful and such a lady.

Our little Mo is a cute little rascal, and as you can see from her size, she's just a tad on the lazy side. We feed her just 1/4 cup of dry food twice a day, and she's just as roly poly as all get out. We can exhaust ourselves trying to play with her, and the most we can get out of her is a couple of placating swats at a toy and that's it--she's done. I think she could benefit from having another cat around, but we can't afford to have two, so we have to keep trying to "think like a cat" and engage her in some sort of play.

She probably gets a really good kitty chuckle out of seeing us running around knocking ourselves out trying to interest her in a little exercise ...  ;D

That's funny!!!

Pretty kitties Larrisa! love that one snuggling under the covers!

My Jazz Cat 10 yr old half Maine Coone he and his brother Blue (lost for 3 yrs now) are grandsons of 2 cats we had when my kids were young and we had their grandparents - then their mother was given to a friend who had a male Maine Coone they were born on my daughter's birthday same year my grandson was born - sort of extra special kitties!
Blue was actually named for his color - and sort of the music - and Jazz because when he was little he was a sort of hyper. Wouldn't know it now though!
the sweet face of Jazz
(http://i46.tinypic.com/34hgpe0.jpg)

Jazz doing what he does best!
When Jazz does manage to play it's usually with hair ties, the rings from milk bottles or maybe the feather tied to a string - he'll actually play fetch with me with the hair ties and bring them back to me for at least 3 or 4 throws now and then!

and 10 yr old Tweet Tweet - I just inherited her last month (not responsible for her name!)

Jazz sometimes like to hang out here:
I put a piece of cardboard on top so now Miss Tweet Tweet doesn't get so freaked out when he hangs out on the cage!

I know, right? We've purchased so many store bought toys for our cats over the years, but the homemade ones seem to hold their attention better. Ours have loved those plastic rings from milk jugs, too, plus scrunched up wrappers and paper balls, knots of plastic twist ties tied together, shoe laces with knots, old phone cords ... but the biggest laugh we ever got was when I grabbed one end of a throw rug my cat was laying on and slowly began to pull. She never moved a muscle, but that face said it all. She was totally amused. I pulled her all through the house, and she was diggin' the heck out of it. Of course, I had to do it all the time after that. All I had to do was grab a corner of the rug, and she'd jump on. We switched from a throw rug to a runner after a while--much, much easier on the back. Mine, not hers.  ;)

CJ - Yeah that's why I was wondering if you knew if she was at least part Maine Coone - she really looks like it!
Larissa - thanks - I think he's gorgeous too!
I had a few parakeets when I was young too - they were fun parakeets - this one is not really much fun - she's very anti-social - has killed 2 males in her younger days and will attack you if you put your finger in her cage - not a peck - but seriously attack you!  But, I try to make life good for her anyway -
Nala - that is soooo funny! especially going out and buying a runner to save your back from giving the kitty rides on the rug - need a magical carpet!! :) yeah, I pretty much quit buying toys a long time ago, about the most I'll buy anymore is cat nip and some cat grass seeds - ok not a toy but he loves it and when it runs out he tends to try to run out the door more often - time to plant some more..............

ok - I take it back!! Heck I admit it, I'd be a crazy cat lady if I could get away with it - but Jaz won't tolerate any other cats - his brother was ok - but he just won't stand for any others - and besides the silly apt complex will only allow two any way - I finally decided one will do for a while - my lap can only hold one at a time anyway!

I've had a few cats who will just stay on the throw rugs when I try moving them over (the rug not the cat) don't usually give them "rides" - they just don't slip around so easily on carpeting...
I've always gotten a kick out of cats playing in the covers when trying to make the bed and lifting the sheet up and they dive onto the bed just as I'm letting the sheet down and so I end up this lump in the middle of the bed! who then crawls out and wants to do it all over again!

I've got a few windows open, as usual.  Microsoft Windows, I mean, though the house windows are open too, but I'm not concerned with those.

So I've got a bunch of stuff in Chrome, including my Reef Botanicals blogger dashboard, gmail, and other stuff open in one window.  Then I've got an IE window with another gmail account, the Nest, and my NJFacePainter blogger dashboard open.  Plus a Word doc.

All of a sudden, my computer's beeping at me, screens are changing, things are deleting, windows are closing, and I'm freaking out sure I've got a virus, Eric's asleep so he can't fix it, and I'm completely screwed for getting stuff done tomorrow.

And then I realize this is happening:

Really, Neptune?  MUST you really lie on the keyboard?  All.  The.  Time?

Yeah, I should've realized it right away.  I'm tired.

This is my little, fat, boolove. We called her Shelley, not only because she's a Sheltie, but because the name just seemed to suit her personality. Prissy (she has her own pillow and "spot" on one end of the sofa and god forbid if anyone sits there), lovable, wants to please all the time, and she is just a wonderful breed for kids (we used to have a houseful).

This is her, at 10 years old now. Sheesh, I can remember when I carried her aound straddle legged in the crook of my arm!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah,  you had to do a big hairy CLOSE UP of the tarantula?!  Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So how does the spider really look , its kind of inside out or something, and its so furry, do you have one of it stretched out?

I just went back and read all this thread, its so clear that everyone adores their pets! I have a cat, he is very cool, and the original scaredy-cat,he doesnt like to be seen by anyone he doesnt know, so I better not post a picture.LOL. Sorry!

We have always done the cake & ice cream thing for all of our dogs. They get a sliver of angel food cake and 'Frosty Paws" ice cream. They are so spoiled!

Oh, Meg LOVES Frosty Paws!  I never thought to give it to her for her birthday, though, it's in March and usually still chilly - March 12.

I *do* get cupcakes for her birthday, though.  Chocolate for me & Eric, and vanilla for Meg.

I tried to give Hunter a can of good tuna on his first birthday and he sneered at it, so I gave it to Meg instead.  Silly cat.

TweetTweet passed away not too long after I posted her picture - I felt bad - I didn't have her for that long - my grandson thought for some reason he had caused her death - I reassured him he had nothing to do with it - she was just old for a parakeet and it was time for her to go - so we buried her out under a tree - just where a bird should be, right!  I wasn't really attached to her, but he was for some reason.

Beautiful animals.

Here's my two. Sally is the brown and Papi is the white. Chihuahua mixes, both were rescued from the animal shelter. We got Sally first, she is a very nervous and shy little dog. Then we decided to get her a friend. Thought maybe that would help her come out of her shell. So we got Papi, and they hit it off right from the start. She is still a little nervous but nothing like before.

I love dogs! The puppies are so cute together. I'm sure the nervous thing will eventually go away. It just takes time, love and patience. Our Farrah was like that when we got her.

GG is adorable! I love how she stays to the path. Our Farrah would be in the woods finding things to chase. When she goes to the park on the weekends, she will generally find some deer to go after.

They're our children… and they are happy to see us if we’re gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours! Unconditional Love!  8)  Or I suppose, they could be hungry!

This is my girl Jade. I gave her a home when her owner didnt want her and she was headed to the pound. I got her when she was 5 months old. She is now 3 yrs old. What is she? we have no clue- the vet just guessed. Whatever shes mixed with, shes the best dog ever. She has a really funny and at times queeney personality. She loves attention and trys to be a lap dog.

Her best buddy lulu , who was 17 yrd old, a shepard mix and a great dog whom I miss greatly and had a really tough time dealing with her passing. So we plan on adopting another dog soon.

I'm thinking part Dobie  as well, especially with the thin face and the marks over his eyes. Or maybe Rotti?  They have those same marks on the pure breads.  Beautiful baby either way!

My girl loves her chair. Ya we just scratch our heads when it comes to trying to figure it out..my vet thinks rott, doby, shepard and god knows what else but hes just guessing..my vet asked an assistant what her thoughts were and she didnt have a clue either..lol..so we just say rott mix...

I have had purebreds and I just love mix breeds the best. Especially ones that need adopting from a shelter or the pound.

She looks very much like our Shakespeare did. He was a rescue from the shelter and was a Doberman/ Lab mix. He was the sweetest dog . We did have to get a specialist to help us with his aggressive tendancies when we first had him. He had been horribly abused and needed to be taught to trust again. He was 15 when he passed. Sure miss him.

They aren't weird...they have personality.  Our dog "talks" or howls if I am on the phone and sitting down...not standing up and on the phone, only if I am sitting.

Jazz doing what he does best!
When Jazz does manage to play it's usually with hair ties, the rings from milk bottles or maybe the feather tied to a string - he'll actually play fetch with me with the hair ties and bring them back to me for at least 3 or 4 throws now and then!

and 10 yr old Tweet Tweet - I just inherited her last month (not responsible for her name!)

Jazz sometimes like to hang out here:

Meg (the dog) used to come running every time the opening credits for ER started.  No idea what her deal was, but I'd watch it in my room in bed back when I had a roommate, and she'd come running, hop up on the bed facing the TV, and lie there like a Sphinx, watching.  I used to say she wanted to be a doctor when she grew up.  It was only that show!

And here is my newest addition from the SPCA. He's only been home with me for a few days. He's 3 years old and has spent most of his life at the SPCA. They named him Tommy, but I'm still searching for a name that fits him. Trying to find a job for him in the studio that doesn't include trying to lay on my palette. :)

Love your furbabies, Marilyn.  Tommy seems pretty relaxed for having been there for such a short time.  How are the two of them getting along.

We have gotten all of ours by people either dumping them off out here or thru accidental litters of friends and off of craigslist, except for Lilya.  I know I should go to the shelters but I just can't do it.  I would have leave there with all of them or with only one of them and in tears coz I couldn't take the others.  It would break my heart too much to see them all.

I appreciate others who can do this. I really do.

They get along really well. My dog is very territorial outside, but he seems to like having a little buddy in the house to play with.  I looked at kittens when I went to the spca, but decided that kittens are pretty easy to find homes for compared to grown cats. Tommy had been there most of his life (3 years) and he was just so sweet, I couldn't resist him.

Shelters come up with the funniest names for the animals.  Before I adopted Hunter, they were calling him Folly.  ???

Just made myself a cone with some key lime pie ice cream. Lucy came up to check it out like she usually does, sometimes even taking a little lick. Not this time. She made serious banana face (those with cats will understand what that means, I think.) Key lime must be one of those flavors they don't like the scent of.

Hi HAF pet owners.  Looking for suggestions.  My dog has fleas.  Have tried flea bath several times, but they keep coming back.  Does anyone know of something that works very well?

You could try Eucalyptus Oil on the back of their neck, where they can't lick it off.  Separate the fur, and dab a little here and there.  Just a little.  Check with a local Vet or Animal Care Line before trying it.  Apparently the Fleas don't like the scent or something.  Other than that an over the counter Flea Treatment, like Advantage (I think that is the name).  Basically the same idea as the Eucalyptus oil, the fur is separated, the ointment is applied and Fleas leave your animals alone.

Thieves' Oil!  The whole point of it was that it was a flea repellent, saving the thieves from the plague:

Eucalyptus
rosemary
cinnamon
clove
lemon

Be careful not to use too much cinnamon & clove; it can irritate the skin if not diluted enough.

yeah, but where do the fleas go? you will still need to spray your furniture and carpeting, or the fleas will just come back.  The summer heat (and warm winter last year) has made the bugs intolerable this year.

Lisa, I agree wiht Debbi, if you dont treat the entire environment, the fleas will be there again, takes 30 days for the eggs to hutch, and they are in the carpet, rugs furniture, everywhere....Best to call a Pest Control guy...I know, I know ...it cost, but you will have them over and over again otherwise. :o ::)

I had a flea issue several months ago, I have 2 dogs who were to be indoor dogs, but one is just not training very well, of course the leader of the pack (my daughter) did not do as should have been done so we put them outside, they have open access to our patio, anywho, during the heat of the summer, the typical florida fleas came and infested our dogs, which when we went on the patio, would get on us from the dogs and come inside.  My daughter does not seem to get bitten very much but if there is one anywhere within 10 feet of me, it will find me and seems my grandson too.  So we became infested in the house.  She bathed the dogs, we bombed the house (3 times), sprayed the carpets directly, sprayed the yard and they seemed to be gone.  Yeah, well they are back, dogs still outside but when my daughter goes out to feed them, the get on her and she brought them back inside.  Sprayed the floors, bombed the house yesterday, and nope, still have some fleas.  Why you say,  because she did not bath the dogs or give them the flea medication so she brought more in.  She is off on Monday, so she is going to bath the dogs, flea medicate them, spray the yard and bomb the house.  I am leaving til she is ready to bomb and then I will take them out for a while, then back to washing everything in the house, putting all Jaeden's stuffed animals in the dryer and hopefully that will take care of the problem.  As long as they stay out of the back yard until it rains again. Then we spray again and all should be well.  They can be controlled, it just takes a lot of effort.  If she can't keep them gone the unfortunately, the dogs will have to go.  :(

Thanks, I told my brother-in-law that he needs to spray the house.  Luckily, there floors are all hardwood so no rugs.  They haven't noticed any in the house.  I just feel sorry for Harry, he is blind and deaf and old so the last thing he needs is fleas.

Unfortunately, they can live in the cracks between the boards. I managed a property once, people vacated the property, I went in and it was of course trashed, did a walk through and nothing.  Went back to my car to get notepad and camera and went back inside and within minutes my legs were black.  The eggs live in the floorboard cracks and when hot body walks through, they hatch.  UGHHHHH

That is thoroughly disgusting.  My beloved dog and his fleas might just have to continue to live with my sister.  Seems fair to me, he didn't have fleas when I sent him there :D

They aren't weird...they have personality.  Our dog "talks" or howls if I am on the phone and sitting down...not standing up and on the phone, only if I am sitting.

OMG Jazz looks just like my Cocoa short for "Cocoa Puff" lol. I will post a pic of her when i can. She is awesome!
I found her in the barn with her mama last winter! I am not a cat person, but Cocoa acts more like a dog than a cat! I just love her so much and she is so affectionate and she loves to play hide and seek with my 6 year old son :)

This little monster and future fuzzy overlord of the world is Pele.
She keeps me sane while driving me insane. And she has had many dog-shaming moments. This was the more recent one.

She is so cute Sarah....

and yes, fleas and their eggs even can survive in concrete floors tiny dents and cracks, wood window frames, you name it they are there. Its a terrible pest. You really have to treat the animal, the entire house and your cloth, bedding everything.....and ususally I had to treat again in about 30 days, thats when the eggs hatch....
That was when I had my black Lab named Katinka, she is in heaven now....

My cats are stricktly indoor cats.....

I've been a little in and out of the forums a bit less lately, our sweet boy was very ill and taking care of him was a fulltime job -  we finally had to say goodbye a week ago today. We're incredibly sad but it was for the best...and he's no doubt sailing the waters that he loved so much again!

Love all the cats!  I have two now, and they are always around me. Angel likes to lay in front of the computer monitor when I am using the computer, and Katie is either on the chair somewhere (arm or behind me on the back of the chair), in my lap, or on the desk.  They just can't stand it when I get on here it seems...always wanting attention!  :)

Angel is the long-haired grey one (she is part Persian) and Katie is the calico.  These are older pictures.  They are older and a bit thinner now (thyroid condition).

Alex had once killed and partial eaten one of those very colorful lizard's, no longer then 6 inches,by the pool at my house in Palm Coast. They are slightly poison, but not dangerous. I took Alex to the vet because, the effect, Alex acted like a drunk for days....

This is my Baily Girl.  She is 3 years old and is a Shih Tzu/Pomeranian.  She is impossible to be upset with.  Once in a great while she does something I don't want her to do and I have to correct her.  She gets her feelings hurt though and just one look at that face and I melt.   She is so much company to me - she is my heart.

oh man! i'm gonna goosh right now!

The ginger is Fiona, black is Raven(monkey) and Abby is the brown tabby.

Abby has no tail. She was found on the streets of LA with a very bad infection in her tail. the tail was amputated. She is my tough girl.

Fiona is the baby, monkey is the middle child and Abby is the mature one.
my little ginger has a crazy story as well. the lady i got her from said Fiona has no mother or siblings. She has no idea what happened to her family.(http://handmadeartists.com/forum/Smileys//clabIcons/sad.gif)
Luckly, Fiona got her self attached to another stray mother cat in the neighborhood and that is how she survived for a few weeks until the lady found them all...and then i found the lady. crazy crazy twist of fate.(http://handmadeartists.com/forum/Smileys//clabIcons/smiley.gif)
Shortly after i found Fiona, I moved my cat herd to FL.

What a happy fun thread to look at.  Here is a girl we rescued at the midnight hour.  She was scheduled for euthanasia,  deemed unadoptable.   We have had her three years.

She is 1/2 Bernese Mountain Dog 1/4 Husky and 1/4 wolf.  Weighs over 110 pds.  She is the love of our lives and complicates the heck out of our lives too.  :)

By the way, Saltbox's story reminded me of when we first got Meg.  We got her at 9 weeks old.  She was a little bitey as a puppy, and her original vet told us she was vicious and had a dominant personality and would never be any good; we should put her down.

Instead we got a new vet.

While still a puppy, we taught her new biting, only kisses, so now if she's upset, she licks you like crazy.  And if she catches you with a tooth by accident, she gets MORTIFIED.

She turned 15 this past March and is the best dog on the planet.

Well,  I just sat still long enough to read this entire thread.  I know everyone that posted couldn't imagine their home without fur, fins, scale or hair.   I laughed,  I cried,  I wanted to pet, and give scritches under the chins and hug.  Don't care for snakes but that Rainbow boa was just beautiful.
Here is another of Daphne...she is a gopher  hunter.  I always try to run out and save them poor things.  She plays with them like a cat.  Hubby gives her high praise when he's home to see it and tells her that's my girl,  you get those gophers.  She acts so proud.  She is a daddy's girl.   I think that is because he is gone half the month working.
When he goes back to work she pouts.

Post by: SaltBoxBeads on June 30, 2013, 07:25:46 PM
Yes,  I know, me too,   :(   I have managed to save a few of the little critters from her.  Not so much the squirrels.  They really give Daphne fits so when she gets those they are gone fast.  CHOMP!    Hubby is 61 and I am 59 and we have both stepped into  those stupid gopher holes and gone down and that can be scary at our ages.
I have taught her to leave the doves alone and she and the resident blue jays work together to chase off the cats.  LOL  The jays start squawking and making a huge racket,  Daphne runs to the door to be let out and the jays lead her to the cats and then she chases them off,  every ones happy.   :)

Catimus looks a lot like the cat who decided that she was going to live at our house. Catimus looks much to comfy!  :D

I'm saved!  Catimus discovered that the tops of the back-of-seat cushions are softer, so she now resides up there behind my head.  Perfect.

This is Lady . She has come to live with us since her owner suddenly passed away. There were no family members who could take her. She is a Border Collie, 10 years old, and so sweet.

Thanks! She is settling in nicely. She enjoys her walks and playing in the back yard. It's nice to have a dog who wants to play. Farrah just does her own thing. We are taking Lady to our vet next week just to get her checked out and see about witching her food. She's been eating this Walmart stuff which I've read up on. Not a  very nutritional food . I think she would benefit greatly from a light senior food but before we do anything, we will see what they say. She also drinks an awful lot of water. A little more than a gallon a day. (I've been measuring the water). She is finishing meds for a UT infection. I'm wondering if it is still present or if this is food related. We shall see I guess.

Dasha's favorite spot in the middle of my craft room just hanging out.  She isn't walking so good this winter and we are worried about her but she still loves to be in the middle of the action wherever that may be.

Here our little Farrah right after her ear surgery. Poor baby. Yesterday she got the bandages off. She still has the buttons in her ear to hold the tissue together so the E collar will be in place for another couple of weeks.

Poor baby!  But adorable all the same.

She does look rather pathetic doesn't she? One more week of the E collar and then we get the buttons out and that thing off. She is mostly back to her normal self too. She will run and play a bit in the back yard now. And she's smiling a lot more too. Makes me a happy Mom!

Meg always hated e-collars. She'd feel mortified, I think, and would hide her head by planting the collar edge flat to the ground all the way 'round.

At least this one is soft. We always had hard plastic ones before and those were terrible. This at least is a bit more comfortable. I don't think any animal likes wearing them. I wouldn't want to.

Yeah, I've never seen a soft one before.  Much better.

Wow! I didn't even realize we have a Pet section. Anyway, here is our household companion, Spike. He’s a cute Pomeranian who loves to play catch with the kids, chew on his dog bone (http://www.petstreetmall.com/DogBones.aspx), and chill out in the living room. He may be a handful sometimes, but he’s a good dog and friend to us, overall; an irreplaceable part of the family.
