Handmade Artists' Shop (HAFshop) / download files
« on: May 24, 2011, 09:01:30 AM »
I haven't offered digital files for sale before but with the download capability of the new shop I'm definitely thinking about it.

What is the general process? Or is there a list of instructions somewhere that I missed. Once the customers purchase is the link sent automatically to them or do I need to email the appropriate file?

I'm thinking about offering .scut or .svg files - essentially what I use to cut my diecuts - I haven't because I don't have anything in place to send them easily to customers.

Creative Creations / Monogram card
« on: October 07, 2009, 03:49:45 PM »

I decided to try something different and make monogram cards - they're quite simple but I love the graphic nature of it. I'll include the listing in case my picture doesn't work.

I looked through for this topic but didn't find it - has anyone else tried the free unlimited listings at Artfire? I have a basic account there and have never had much action so yesterday I used the importer and sent all of my etsy listings over to artfire. Seems to work fairly well but it's a major pain to go through and put all of the new listings into the proper artfire categories. There's some sort of bulk thing that's supposed to make it easier but it's too much hassle for my stuff.

I haven't had any sales yet but wondered if others would be trying it?

Creative Creations / Haunted House Card

So here's my sad story - I'm always away all summer - then I fell off my dumb horse and broke my upper arm! So now I can finally type again and this is one of my first new cards in months!

Thanks for checking it out!

Creative Creations / Recipe Chipboard Album
« on: June 11, 2009, 12:29:55 PM »

I really like this little album! It would make a great gift for someone moving out on their own or a wedding shower. Each page has a recipe  card box. You can see it at my store or the direct listing

From June 10-14 2009 I'm participating in the YART sale - my store is 10% off the item price refunded through paypal!

General Discussion / I'm having a dilemma regarding multiple venues
« on: June 08, 2009, 10:37:20 PM »
I decided to ask for advice here because I know there's sellers from lots of different venues here. I'm not sure what to do. Currently I have an etsy store that I've had for about 8 months - I have around 65 listings right now and have had 17 sales. I think that's okay for what I do but I'd definitely like the number to go up. I also have an artfire store - right now the free version that I've had for around 6 months, 10 listings, 0 sales.

When I make a card design I make lots of that design - they're all a little different but generally similar papers, embellishments etc. Do I keep filling up my etsy shop with multiples of the same design or do I decide to start paying artfire and split my inventory between the two venues? Artfire has the rapid cart that you can put on your blog but has no where near the traffic of etsy.

OR do I wake up my sleepy little shop on shophandmade and fill it with half of my inventory because it's basically free to list there and you only pay a selling fee. The thing is that I can't find any stats on how shophandmade is doing or any seller reviews of it. Makes me think it might be a waste of time.

If you're still reading - thank you! I'm open to all advice!!

Hopefully this is in the right forum!

I blogged this morning about the steps I take to get what I think are great pictures for my products - you can see the post on my blog at . If you have any questions or comments I'd love to answer them or if it didn't make any sense whatsoever let me know that too!

It uses chipboard, patterned paper and rub ons - thanks! Jeanine

Creative Creations / Star Pre Decorated Chipboard Album

This is kindof scary - my first thread here! I've enjoyed reading lots of different posts on this board so I thought I'd show you my newest listing on etsy. I wanted to branch out from just selling cards so I've been spending the last few days altering shaped chipboard albums.

The process is really quite fun - I have learned a few things - for example, definitely smart to ink or color the edges of the chipboard before you glue it to the paper. And speaking of glue, glue sticks are my friend and you can never have enough.
