Simple Maille Ring
« on: January 09, 2013, 07:34:38 PM »
I have not made anything in ages.  Today I made a ring with of course very small jump rings.  Cute, simple and fun to wear.

Just took a look Alix, and that is amazing.  I of course it is mind boggling to me since I can't do maille with any size rings, but those who can amaze me.  This is really lovely.

Lovely work. I did one like that for Kimberly but in a smaller gauge. I believe it was 22, I had to fix it 3 times as that gauge is really too dainty for a ring. In my opinion. Looks like yours is 18 or 20 so you may fair better that we did LOL

18g Sterling Silver Plated wire to be exact.  It holds up well. I made a 6-in-1 version on 20 gauge, that had to be closed with an 18g because the 20 was just too small.  Need a photo of that one as well.

Yeah, it is truly cute, simple and fun to wear! Love the combination! Firstly took it as a bracelet by merely staring at the picture, I guess a ring is better!  ^-^

Version two done in 20g with double rings instead of single, makes for a tighter or denser weave than the single ring weave above.  Reminiscent of a Fish-bone Braid (for the hair)
