« on: March 28, 2012, 06:20:58 PM »
This is my entry to the trashy contest on this site. The stone is Sonora Sunrise, the metals are patinaed copper and stainless steel with silver rivets...
All metals are repurposed..

Thanks, this is one of my favorite stones too the color combo is just delicious...  only limited quantities of it have been found... last time I checked on availability of the rough stone there were only crummy looking pieces for sale.

What family of stones is it in?  The colors are rich and beautiful.

It is mainly copper ores, the blue is chrysocolla, the red is cuprite and the black is tenorite, there is also some hematite in this piece, it has iron in it.
