« on: June 01, 2009, 08:26:33 AM »
Here's another of my attempts at posting, my previous one did not go through!
I'm a new member and am a little out of my depth here, but would like to try to show you guys some of my new creations, so I guess I have to attempt this!! I'll start by showing you my fave necklace from my designs, here goes nothing!
Let me know what you think.

That is beautiful!  Did you use vintage components or are those just made to look old?  Really beautiful...yes I said it twice but it is! Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the compliments and the welcome! The components are new and just made to look old, I do have some 'real vintage components, but have just started 'playing' with them, to come up with some new designs.
Thanks again for making me feel welcome!

I really like the bead colors you used.

You said to Kim you made new components look old. How?

Love this!  I see a lot of vintage that sort of "tries too hard" and of course that looks a lot the same because of the same Vintaj components used in similar ways, but this is very unique and of course I adore the drapey style.

Hi to all, thankyou all for the lovely compliments and welcomes!!
You are all so lovely, I was really scared to post one of my designs here as I have seen all your gorgeous designs and felt slightly inferior!
I'm not sure how to reply to individual people, so I will answer the question from dreamriverdesigns here and hope you will find it, I buy the pieces already aged (or antiqued I should say) from the suppliers, some of my supplies come from Accessories Susan, she describes how her pieces are created, antiqued and plated in the intro on her homepage at Vintagejewelrysupplies.com
Sorry to not clarify that in my posting!
To Dragonclaw, that's why I don't use Vintaj, I love it, but I think it's too hard to come up with an original 'unique' design as so many people do use it!
By the way, I LOVE chainmaille, it is spectacular and must require a lot of patience!
Thank you all again for the lovely compliments and for making me feel so welcome.
Sometimes I take a while to get back to answer people as I have 4 kids and get very busy, but I'll make sure I keep coming back to this forum as I can see it is a great one!!
Sorry for the long novel!!
Here's a pic of my latest listing, just been renewed.

Neither of your pieces are inferior.  They are gorgeous.

You are doing brilliantly. You're jewellery is beautiful

I'm not sure how to reply to individual people,
You can quote other people's posts by clicking the 'quote' button at the top of THEIR post, it will put their post into a new post and you can then answer underneath it, sort of like I just did.. although I removed the text I wasnt answering lol.
If you ever have any questions ask away, there is sure to be someone who can help you out.

Sometimes I take a while to get back to answer people as I have 4 kids and get very busy, but I'll make sure I keep coming back to this forum as I can see it is a great one!!

I have 5 kids! I can understand why you get busy..LOL
