Took me forever...
« on: May 29, 2009, 06:53:48 PM »
This was my entry in the Etsy Chainmaillers' Guild "Romance Blossoms" contest.  I think it was third.

Stats:  2000 some 20g 1/8" stainless steel rings in Elfsheet.  Acrylic rose cameo ringed by 18g 3/16" Half Persian 3 in aluminum.  Czech glass dagger beads.  Tube clasp.  Very sore fingers.  Steel is evil.

I started this at a craft fair in November and worked on it off and on for five months before finishing it for the contest when the rose inlay I was attempting did not work. :)

There's the contest... lots of amazing talent.  #6 was first place and #9 was second.

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone  :-*

Hopefully I'll get to the camera today, but 2 orders are keeping me from it (can't complain about that!)

The others are pretty, but yours fit the theme better.  Beautiful piece.

I have to agree with Kim-your's seemed to be the only one that really captured 'romance' at all!

If yours took 3rd - I think 1st and 2nd must  have paid people to go vote for them - yours is by far the best not only for theme, but the best overall!  This is beautiful!  And now, I'm am seriously thinking of exploring this more.  I've been somewhat resisting up till now - but, seeing this, yeah I may just have to give it a go!

This is awesome - you really should have gotten 1st!
