I personally love your white background, the trick is to have it white without washing it out.  For example, I love this picture http://handmadeartistsshop.com/product-details/Jewelry/Sets/Rosas%20Garden%20bracelet%20and%20earrings%20set/?pid=2011080420005323820 where you can see the color pop but this one http://handmadeartistsshop.com/product-details/Jewelry/Earrings/My%20Romance%20gemstone%20Earrings/?pid=20110708200257a6f75 is over-white and the earrings are getting lost in the glare.  It really is just a matter of playing with the camera settings as well as editing which I am hoping I will one day figure out!

I had brightened those earrings pictures for Etsy and I think I got carried away because originally they were not that bright. It's the lighten the picture stuff, and I just went too far. It's going to get fixed soon!

Overbright is easy to do and I see it a lot on Etsy and other shops.  I really hate doing pictures, in fact have a bunch of jewelry I need to shoot and just dread it!

Do you use the macro function?  It almost looks like on some of them the focus is just a pinch off.  I've noticed that sometimes if I don't turn my macro off and take a picture from farther away it's pretty fuzzy.  :(  I've noticed on my own pictures I sometimes go crazy with making them too bright  :-[
