Agreed!  Pictures will be the end of me one day.

I got an unexpected half day today because they closed the schools early because of a heat wave...my room hit 100 by 9am and it was only getting hotter.

A heat wave might actually be nice - we're in the middle of cool temps right now - my poor plants are just stunted - no sun to help them grow!

I don't feel like I've accomplished anything today - I'm trying to organize files on my computer which is a lot of work for no visible reward! That's what I get for putting it off for so long!

I asked for and got 2 1/2 days vacation - so I am embroidering, probably for most of the 2 1/2 days!  But you never know...  I may be quilting by Friday!  Here's the front of the quilt with one color of the the first lightning bolt done.

That quilt is beautiful!

Woke up to find out a vase I shipped shattered in transit (my own fault really, I was not happy with the box size but tried to save a few bucks  :-[ ) and then another email that a glass set I shipped ended up with one of the stems broken so now I have to replace the vase and the glass!  :-\   Not what I needed right now.

Today is supposed to hit 100-so we only have a half day of school because the entire building is not air conditioned so hopefully I can get the orders redone (or at least started) and get a bunch of stuff together for a yard sale this weekend.

Sorry about your shipments, what a drag.  Hope they were insured.  It hit 100 yesterday where my sister lives, about 90 miles NW of NYC.  They didn't let school out early in her non-air conditioned  school.  Hope you both have better luck today!  I am going to do my best to stay off the hot streets and perhaps catch up on photos and making and posting things.

Still embroidering - no surprise there!  So sorry to hear about the shipping nightmares.  I have to go into one of the local radio stations later today to tape an interview about the Arts Festival.

Shipping is the biggest pain of internet selling! Sorry to hear about the breakage. We're in the middle of rolling postal strikes in Canada - it's a little frustrating to possibly have a couple of days tacked on to shipping and not be able to do anything about it or know if it's going to happen.

Year end show time has started for my daughter's ballet so I'll be spending a lot of time over the next few days there.

Have a great day everyone!

I still get a kick out of the "rolling strikes" thing. Here in the US you just strike and that's that until a settlement is reached. We happened to be in London when the tube guys had a day long strike and that place was CHAOS! They so depend on public transit that many people stayed home because they had no way to get to work.

I'm at work and I think it's too hot for people to be out. Traffic has been very light today so far. Upper 90's with a lot of humidity (78% I thought I heard this morning) I really do not like this at all!

That stinks about the broken vase & stem :(

While everyone's complaining about the heat, it's actually pretty cool here, about 60!

Everything has decided it hates me today, so I'm curled up working on a new blanket!
