Andy's trip to Japan is cancelled!  Woot!  I'm doing 'work' and soon followed by blogging and hopefully followed by knitting!  :)

It's always tough when a spouse has to be gone and there are little ones around.

My day was just loads of fun! They are doing street work, and someone broke a water pipe up the street. Well, the water was flowing down the street and had left a huge puddle in front of our building. They is a nice crater, pothole in the blacktop and the side of the sidewalk, so all that water went down the holes, flooded the meter box in the sidewalk and went straight down into my office.

I get in there, turn on the light and step into a puddle. The water soaked the rug I had in there and was about an inch deep. Fortunately for me it hadn't reached the far end of the room where the power strip is and my computer. The rug had soaked up alot of it. My husband came with the big shop vac and sucked up about 10 gallons of water.

It appears that they have it repaired, but thw wall board is wet, so that will need to be removed and cleaned up. Don't want any mold problems.

What a mess!  Sorry you have to deal with this!

I am sick as a dog tonight..think it was something I ate today so I am going to bed early.  Last day of school for me tomorrow and then cub scouts.  Now that school is done, and before my summer job starts, I am going to redo my bedroom, office and bathroom; mostly painting and small fix ups but I am in need of a new look!

Wow, I've been too busy to even post!

Work has been crazy and my boss comes back from Peru tomorrow, so there's been a lot to do.  Plus, I'll be in court in the morning and afternoon, as I was this morning and tonight.

Been prepping for our annual Mardi Gras in June party which is this Saturday.  I'll be making my first ever topsy turvy cake, cake pops, and pecan pies.  Eric will be boiling the crawfish, making etouffee, and making his awesome cornbread.

But for now, he had to work really late tonight; his job might have an even crazier schedule than mine right now.

I also face painted on Saturday at the Valerie Fund walkathon I've worked for several years now.

Thanks Matt re the Shelf unit!

I have to say many of you make me dizzy!

Normasbathand body - welcome to the forum!

Teresa - oooh sorry you had to deal with the water mess!  Yeah, where you live you really do have to more careful about the mold, here we just suck up or sweep the water out & open the doors & windows  and unless it's really bad, everything is dry in a few hours!  It's so blasted dry. In fact NM & Az are sort of burning up and we haven't even gotten into the real heat of the summer!
today I'm going to move that shelf & get some things organized, list a few new items in both shops, already wrote a blog & off to do another one on my other site.  Now we'll see what I actually get done.  And maybe some tweets!
Everybody have a great day

Welcome to the forum :)
Today I am going to buy some insulation for the wall in my garage (workshop) so I don't freeze this winter while trying to work on stones ::) I got a few more cabs done yesterday and if I manage to photograph them I will post pics... reminder to me (look into a photography class)

I'd believe it!

My guys are counting down and I know for a fact the teachers are too!

My camera died the other night - I'm really hoping it's just the battery - because I don't think I can live without my camera!

Doing my typical juggling act, I swear  I feel like a circus performer sometimes. Family, Work, Forum, Shop, Promotion, Etc. Father still in the hospital 3 weeks now, still making baby steps but still a long road till he comes home. There are also pending surgeries he will have to deal with at some point.

Otherwise all is good just constantly on the go it seems.

Ditto.

And I'm kinda jealous of the school schedule.  I miss 2-month summers.

Today I worked my tail off, was in two different courts, and was able to get out pretty early because of the second court appearance.

So tonight I shaped, filled, and crumbcoated my cakes, plus made the balls for the cake balls.  Tomorrow night I'm aiming to put the cake together, fondant and decorate it, and then see about decorating the cake balls.  That leaves Friday night for pecan pies.
