I finally got around to closing my etsy shop down completely... with the antics going on over there I want nothing more to do with that arrogant bunch...

Congrats, Matt!

You know, the discussion I've been following, they talk about eBay... I had no idea that started as a handmade site!  I thought it was always just to buy & sell whatever.  I sold an old arcade machine on it many years ago, and have bought all sorts of stuff, none of it handmade.  Maybe that's where Etsy is headed.  They won't die, just change.

Anyway, there's enough talk about them.

I got up pretty early this morning, vacuumed, did dishes, moved some boxes of crap that needed to go upstairs, and set up my face painting kit in the living room.

About 15 minutes ago, I got done painting a 68-year-old completely naked woman as a birthday cake for her husband's birthday; she's going to surprise him.  Right now, she's wearing body paint & a trench coat.

Gotta say, I wanna be her when I grow up, 'cause I'm not that brave at 41!  (much to Eric's dismay haha)

Now I have to go to Hallmark & the Lion Brand outlet.  Eric suggested I use part of the $100 I was just paid to paint the cake to buy more cashmere (and I just might HAVE to get another skein of cotton bamboo... I'm thinking green this time).

Then I've gotta get my kit all cleaned up & repacked, 'cause tomorrow is the Tribeca Film Festival!  Expect lots of photos.

Unfortunately, you can't expect photos from this body painting, since she asked me not to post them anywhere public.  :(

She was hoping she doesn't get into an accident!

I am SO annoyed.  Drove over to the outlet, feeling all excited about getting more fancy yarn... totally forgetting they're closed on Friday and Saturday for the summer!  What a disappointment.  I'll go Sunday, I guess.

Damnit.  Now I'm totally craving one of those awful logs of fake cookie dough.  I might need to go to the supermarket.

Yep Larissa , ebay started out with handmade, way way back, I was one of them who made them what they are, with all the high fees .......they also bit the hand that fed them.....(gosh I am old).....and also had a revolte......
Etsy will change and there is nothing everyone can do, worshipping the green and being greedy on the backs of every handmade seller.

Which is really sad.  I was looking through their vintage stuff yesterday and they had several pieces listed under 'designer vintage' as self-proclaimed faux!  I thought you weren't allowed to resell fake designer items anywhere.   :o

Today I am celebrating my best friend's daughter's 1st birthday!  I'm super excited :D
