When Jazz does manage to play it's usually with hair ties, the rings from milk bottles

I know, right? We've purchased so many store bought toys for our cats over the years, but the homemade ones seem to hold their attention better. Ours have loved those plastic rings from milk jugs, too, plus scrunched up wrappers and paper balls, knots of plastic twist ties tied together, shoe laces with knots, old phone cords ... but the biggest laugh we ever got was when I grabbed one end of a throw rug my cat was laying on and slowly began to pull. She never moved a muscle, but that face said it all. She was totally amused. I pulled her all through the house, and she was diggin' the heck out of it. Of course, I had to do it all the time after that. All I had to do was grab a corner of the rug, and she'd jump on. We switched from a throw rug to a runner after a while--much, much easier on the back. Mine, not hers.  ;)

CJ - Yeah that's why I was wondering if you knew if she was at least part Maine Coone - she really looks like it!
Larissa - thanks - I think he's gorgeous too!
I had a few parakeets when I was young too - they were fun parakeets - this one is not really much fun - she's very anti-social - has killed 2 males in her younger days and will attack you if you put your finger in her cage - not a peck - but seriously attack you!  But, I try to make life good for her anyway -
Nala - that is soooo funny! especially going out and buying a runner to save your back from giving the kitty rides on the rug - need a magical carpet!! :) yeah, I pretty much quit buying toys a long time ago, about the most I'll buy anymore is cat nip and some cat grass seeds - ok not a toy but he loves it and when it runs out he tends to try to run out the door more often - time to plant some more..............

Oh nay, I didn't say I ran out to buy a runner, I used one that was already on the floor. I might be a cat lover, but I'm not "The Crazy Cat Lady" just yet ... okay, "scratch" that, I've always been the Crazy Cat Lady!!  ;D

ok - I take it back!! Heck I admit it, I'd be a crazy cat lady if I could get away with it - but Jaz won't tolerate any other cats - his brother was ok - but he just won't stand for any others - and besides the silly apt complex will only allow two any way - I finally decided one will do for a while - my lap can only hold one at a time anyway!

I've had a few cats who will just stay on the throw rugs when I try moving them over (the rug not the cat) don't usually give them "rides" - they just don't slip around so easily on carpeting...
I've always gotten a kick out of cats playing in the covers when trying to make the bed and lifting the sheet up and they dive onto the bed just as I'm letting the sheet down and so I end up this lump in the middle of the bed! who then crawls out and wants to do it all over again!

I've got a few windows open, as usual.  Microsoft Windows, I mean, though the house windows are open too, but I'm not concerned with those.

So I've got a bunch of stuff in Chrome, including my Reef Botanicals blogger dashboard, gmail, and other stuff open in one window.  Then I've got an IE window with another gmail account, the Nest, and my NJFacePainter blogger dashboard open.  Plus a Word doc.

All of a sudden, my computer's beeping at me, screens are changing, things are deleting, windows are closing, and I'm freaking out sure I've got a virus, Eric's asleep so he can't fix it, and I'm completely screwed for getting stuff done tomorrow.

And then I realize this is happening:

Really, Neptune?  MUST you really lie on the keyboard?  All.  The.  Time?

Yeah, I should've realized it right away.  I'm tired.

This is my little, fat, boolove. We called her Shelley, not only because she's a Sheltie, but because the name just seemed to suit her personality. Prissy (she has her own pillow and "spot" on one end of the sofa and god forbid if anyone sits there), lovable, wants to please all the time, and she is just a wonderful breed for kids (we used to have a houseful).

This is her, at 10 years old now. Sheesh, I can remember when I carried her aound straddle legged in the crook of my arm!

She's a sweetie!  And that's half of my Megaera - she's 1/2 Sheltie, 1/2 Eskimo!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah,  you had to do a big hairy CLOSE UP of the tarantula?!  Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

So how does the spider really look , its kind of inside out or something, and its so furry, do you have one of it stretched out?

I just went back and read all this thread, its so clear that everyone adores their pets! I have a cat, he is very cool, and the original scaredy-cat,he doesnt like to be seen by anyone he doesnt know, so I better not post a picture.LOL. Sorry!

This is our Farrah (Dachshund/Jack Russell mix) enjoying her cake and ice cream for her 7th birthday.

And this is our "Grand Dame" Dakota (Scottish Terrier) also enjoying her birthday treat of cake and ice cream. She turned 11. Her birthday and Farrah's are just a couple of days apart.

We have always done the cake & ice cream thing for all of our dogs. They get a sliver of angel food cake and 'Frosty Paws" ice cream. They are so spoiled!

Oh, Meg LOVES Frosty Paws!  I never thought to give it to her for her birthday, though, it's in March and usually still chilly - March 12.

I *do* get cupcakes for her birthday, though.  Chocolate for me & Eric, and vanilla for Meg.

I tried to give Hunter a can of good tuna on his first birthday and he sneered at it, so I gave it to Meg instead.  Silly cat.
