Of Anklets and Upcycled
« on: July 11, 2015, 01:47:29 PM »
I've been tinkering with jewelry salvage again, and just thought I'd share!  :D

Upcycled necklace with vintage photo-pendants.

Upcycled necklace made from parts of various vintage pieces.  The centerpiece was actually an old clip-on earring, and the crystal strands on either side of it were from an antique/vintage leaded glass bracelet that belonged to my great-grandmother.

Brooch made from a pair of vintage clip-on earrings.

Faux coral upcycled necklace.

Upcycled necklace out of parts of vintage brooch and other jewelry salvage.

Vintage faux pearl and rhinestone upcycled asymmetrical necklace.  The rhinestone floral detail on the side of the necklace was once an antique/vintage brooch (probably from about the 1930s or so) that my grandma from with her metal detector and dug up.

I've also been working on adding anklets to my inventory as I've been asked several times now at shows if I have any.  So here are a few of the anklets I've made so far.

Sterling silver, Pink Topaz, and freshwater pearl Barrelweave anklet.

Sterling silver and Smokey Quartz Barrelweave anklet.

Sterling silver, Dragondust sterling, Pink Topaz, and Olive Chalcedony Mobius flower and silversmithed anklet. (I really, really love how this one turned out!!)

Thank ye!  I've been doing a lot with that colour-combo lately as for some reason pink-and-green seems to be a good seller for me.

They certainly make a statement. When I had my store, one of my sellers made salvaged jewelry and she had cool pieces like this too. I have a pendant made from an eyeglass lens.

I think my fav of the bunch is the anklet. I'm pretty partial to those colors.
