Momwithahook

I’m Sara Duggan and go by Momwithahook online. I grew up with my mom who was very into arts and crafts. She painted, drew, crocheted and sewed. I tried to learn crochet from her but didn’t really pick it up.

In 1999 with the birth of my last son I took a couple of classes at the local craft store and now I’m hooked. I started out with a little blanket for my son then started selling my items on Etsy in 2007. After a while I started designing tea cozies, amigurumi, scarves and hats. Finally, in 2010 I retired my online shop and concentrated fully on writing.

Crochet for me is my medicine. I use it for my therapy as well as my stress reliever. It has also been my healer. Each stitch I make is made with love and sometimes prayer.

Currently I teach private and group crochet lessons. I enjoy watching people who think they can’t make a stitch complete their first project. I especially enjoy teaching the younger generation – something about the joy on their faces brings the proud Mama out of me.

I first starting writing articles online in 2005 but found my calling when I started concentrating on crochet articles and patterns in 2007. I am an avid blogger sharing crochet lessons on Crochet with Mom  and free crochet patterns on my journal.

I recently released an eBook “Hooking for Cash” which guides crochet businesses through earning additional income with their crochet blog. Just like I enjoy seeing someone learning to crochet, I love seeing people succeed in their hobby business. My third blog was born out of this love. Crochet Business Blog

I live with my husband and 2 children in Northern California.  All have sported a crochet hat or two and have “volunteered” for photo shoots. Currently we homeschool our youngest and our oldest will be graduating from high school.

Looking forward to getting to know each handmade designer more through following your journey’s on handmade artist’s forum.
