Then again, in Australia you're learning from the best of the best.  It was the Aussie face & body painters who took the whole thing to an actual art from from the "heart on the cheek" painters.
I didn't know that. We only had about an hour with a local face painter, plus about an hour that we messed about with stuff.

Hello my darling HAF peeps! I have been very absent, but today I had my inbox bombarded with messages and I felt it must be a sign to check in and see how everyone is going.
My life has taken a major turn in recent times, I rarely get a chance to make things at the moment (although I do have some chainmaille in a Tourist centre). Tomorrow I finish my Cert III in Beauty I am now a Beautician, and I have a Youtube channel which mostly has beauty related stuff (but one day will have crafty stuff too!).
I was actually thinking about Larissa the other day when we had a session on face painting.
I really miss you guys. I should make more effort to stay connected.

Is there a badge (already coded lol) for us to put on our blogs? I only had the old badge (the one I designed oh so long ago) and I'd really like to update it with the current 'logo' but I cannot easily find one.

General Discussion / Anyone remember me?

Hello Peeps, long time no see. I thought I would drop by and see the old gang and do a quick update on where I'm at.
As some may know, I have been diagnosed with PTSD/depression/anxiety and things have been a bit rough for me. I'm still making jewellery, but mostly chainmaille these days and I've been selling some through a tourist centre (which is pretty darn cool).
I've also started a Youtube channel where I post videos about random stuff, and beauty related stuff. I'm planning on doing a few jewellery/polymer clay based tutorial videos as well. I'd love it if my peeps here could check out my channel, maybe subscribe and possibly even share it around to anyone that you think might enjoy it.  - (the link for those who are interested)
So, anyway. I hope all you guys are doing well? You lot are really important to me, even if it doesn't seem like it. I will make a better effort to be around and I'm planning to revamp my shop in the next couple of months.

There is much I could say, but I was always taught if you have nothing nice to say you should say nothing at all.

General Discussion / Re: Just an FYI about AF
« on: September 13, 2012, 03:51:50 AM »
Anyone who knows me knows I was very pro AF for a long time. Then John Jacobs stepped back and let his side kick take the front running and things have gone down hill. Since the inplementation of their ASSurance program and stupid changes they made that caused the site to be effectively wiped from Google and force sellers to have to rebuild their links, the traffic on AF has dropped by 75%. That's right DOWN 75% in 12 months.
I have some wonderful friends on AF and I learnt a lot, but their treatment of sellers in recent times is abysmal. I'm glad I walked when I did... 3 years, 5 studios and a lot of bitterness.

Jewelry / Re: Jewellery, in miniature
« on: August 15, 2012, 06:42:10 PM »
I suppose there is some sense in making tiny jewelry with tiny beds!  What size beads are you using?  they are all terrific - love the collar!

I use 13/o charlottes (which are smaller than normal 13/o) and 15/o seedies.. some of which are Czech ones which are smaller than any other 15/o and need a micro needle LOL

General Discussion / Re: What kind of scam is this
« on: August 02, 2012, 07:21:06 PM »
If someone contacts you about items in your store and then asks for your site address that should scream scam to you. If they send you an email to your email address and then ask for your email details, again scam.

Handmade Artists' Shop (HAFshop) / Re: Pricing Question
« on: July 31, 2012, 01:38:30 AM »
Personally I prefer to have the shipping separate. I know that shipping is never really free.

But on the topic of mind games with customers, pricing things with .95 on the end seems to make many think it is cheaper than it is. So pricing something 25.95 will be 'processed' mentally as 25, whereas 25.99 is processed as 26. Not everyone does it, but it seems to be a marketing ploy often used.

Just Life / Re: Any walkers In Our Group?
« on: July 24, 2012, 07:31:41 AM »
I bought a pair of those shape up type shoes.. I wore them for a couple of weeks then stopped wearing them when I had achilles tendon issues.. which still havent resolved several months later. I walk everywhere due to not driving and I thought they would help me lose my excess weight.. they don't.
So yeah, get a good pair of walking shoes.

Oh no!  Have you been to a doc?  Does it look like your tendons will heal?
No, havent been to my doc about it.. should mention it on the next appointment LOL I only know I didn't have pain before I bought the toning sneakers.
