Hi Everyone,

I owe you all a HUGE apology - words can't suffice.  I'm sorry I dropped off the map this month, and even missed the week you all wrote amazing blogs about my shop.  It's been a very difficult time for my family - really the whole year, which started with me being laid off from my day job at the beginning of this year, and has continued with challenges since, from job issues to medical issues.  This month, it even seemed like the outside world mirrored the chaos we were feeling, with the first earthquake in the Northeast in over a century, followed by Hurricane Irene!

Please accept my apology, along with a big thanks for all the wonderful blog posts.  I will be working this week to catch up on writing my own posts for the weeks I missed.

Hi everyone...I'm sorry to be late again, but here is my post about Chainmaille by MBOI:

I had a great time writing it because Kimberly and Andrew are such an inspiration to me.  I hope you'll enjoy reading it!

: )

Hi everyone - I'm a little behind, but just finished my post on Shannamarie, and commented on other blogs.  I had some difficulty though, commenting on Blogspot blogs because I don't have a Blogspot ID.  The program kept directing me to sign up for a blog when I tried to use my Google profile.  Is there a trick to doing comments on Blogspot that I'm not aware of?  My blog is Wordpress, but on my own site.

Oh no, I can't believe I missed signing up for Round 4 - life has been a bear lately.  But I'll catch up with everyone again in Round 5.  Good luck!

I was a little late for a few tweets too, but all caught up now...

General Discussion / Re: Looking for Team Leaders!

Aimee made a good point that the team pages help keep us connected on the venues for our promotional efforts, and we have certainly gotten a lot of new interest on the Etsy side.

I have voted for keeping the teams.  If the vote goes the other way, that's fine too, because I'll still be here on the forum.

As I explained earlier in the thread, I can't offer to take full responsibility for a team right now, but I can help as a co-leader, or whatever the term is now, on either Etsy or Artfire (or both if needed).  I would be happy to help with promotion (blogging, twitter, facebook), administrative tasks, or whatever is needed as my work schedule allows.  (Which is really all anybody can offer, I think, since we all lead busy lives.)

If anyone wants to talk more about this outside the forum, please feel free to email me.

On a final note, I want to thank Andrew and Kimberly for all of their amazing work, and for setting such a high standard for us.

I'm so very sad to hear this shocking news.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Janelle's family.

Please don't take my silence on this issue as indifference or a lack of interest.  I'm struggling with the question of the teams, and just don't know where I stand yet.

HAF has been very important to me.  It's the first place I found likeminded people as a new seller on Etsy.  It's also been a source of great support for me personally and for handmade as a whole.  I hope that never changes.

But I also see Aimee's points.  So much of what we do with and for each other happens right here on the forum.  I'm just not sure with the new team pages on Etsy, and the general lack of team spirit on Artfire, whether fracturing into teams on these venues just tends to diffuse our focus.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I want to totally give up a HAF presence on these venues.

The bottom line is that if we keep the teams, I'd be happy to help on either or both.  I can't volunteer as a team leader because things are too up in the air for me now - I was recently laid off from my job and am back to a crazy freelance schedule.  But I could certainly pitch in.

If we get rid of the teams, I'll still be here on HAF helping to support our community and support handmade.

That's beautiful...I love the colors.
