Just Life / Re: Beware strange furnace smells

Wow scary indeed! John is right. CO is called the silent killer because you can't see it, smell it, or taste it. We also have detectors in our house for both CO and smoke. We have always had 2 yearly inspections of both the heating and cooling units. That way you always know what's going on and if repairs are needed.
I am glad to hear that everyone is okay. I don't envy you having to replace the unit though. Expensive thing to do.

Sorry to hear that you lost one, but at least it was only one. I don't plan on keeping bees, but when I start planting in this yard, I am going to try and plant stuff that they like.

The flowers are pretty! I had some as a kid for years and loved them. I wasn't expecting to see a tutorial though.

I looked at this when the original post was done. Wasn't much to see. Now they have 81 items for sale. Still not a lot. I have seen some ads on FB for them too. May be one to watch.

Awesome quilt Sandi! Sorry about the water stuff. So far we haven't anything that bad, though in the back of my head I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Larissa, I am a bit surprised that the sap is running already. Seems a tad early, but given how weird the weather has been, I think everything is confused.

Very cold here today so walking is hard. We had a short one this morning. Will go again after lunch for another short one.
I've been sorting through all of my jewelry and pulled a bunch out of my shop. We have a community yard sale in May so I want to put out as much as I can and hopefully get rid of some. Still on the fence about whether or not to keep my shop open. It's hard to let go, but my lack of motivation isn't helping. Sales are not there and that makes it hard to feel compelled to do anything. Maybe I need a change of projects.

I have to go let the girls back in since they are barking. So cold!! Later!

Well that's some big news! Congratulations and loads of luck! I can't even imagine trying to study much of anything

I know if you use the shop search bar, items that are no longer listed will be in the drop-down as you type.  But if you click on them, they won't be in the shop anymore.  Is that what you were doing?

I've come across this and find it rather annoying.

Wow Larissa, I am impressed! I LOVE the" We Bee-Lieve" idea! So awesome on many levels!!! Sounds like it's moving along great already, but I will wish you both luck anyway!  And the mushroom thing sounds pretty phenomenal as well. I assume you are just servicing your immediate area and not shipping them all over.  They can be pretty delicate things and I would think shipping would be a challenge. Of course I could be totally off base too.  :P

We've had several hundred views of our NC house and 2 showings already. Seems we also sprung a leak in the kitchen so we will need to arrange for a plumber to come and replace the shut off valve for the hot water in the sink. I'm so glad my friend has been able to go and check on things for us. It sure is a huge help.  I am so over this whole thing and want this place to just get sold. Buyers are knit picking about the paint again although it is all repainted. I just don't know what these people expect though I suspect they want a "perfect"house. Even if you buy brand new, that doesn't happen. Anyway, I am trying my best to stay positive since this has only just started again.

It's been a gorgeous weekend  with above normal temps and sunshine. Rain is coming and then changing to snow. Then the frigid air moves in for a few days. This has been a quiet winter so far but I am so looking forward to spring. I suspect that most people are all over the country.

Enjoy the big game today!Should be a good one.

So glad you're getting a newer, better realtor.  And now's the perfect time because so many people want to move in spring/summer.

I just saw a story a few weeks ago that said that winter was better because there is less competition. In my mind, I never really thought there was a "house buying/selling season". Anyway, I really think she is going to be much better for us! Fingers crossed.

We are supposed to get some nasty weather later on today. Thunderstorms and lots of wind. I haven't really heard anything about snow for us-maybe a mix later this week, but then warming up again.  Going to try and get the girls out for another walk before the rain comes.

They are ALL fantastic! I got myself one of those books (actually hubby bought it for me) that I color in every now and then. It's fun to do.

WE don't get enough snow here to warrant a plow. We had thought about a small snowblower, but I'm not even sure we need that. The couple times I shoveled, it really wasn't too bad. Of course this winter has been super mild so far. We shall see after being here a bit longer.

Tackled some small projects over the weekend. We replaced more of the door hardware so it's slowly but surely getting better looking. Terry took down the awful ceiling fan that was in the master and put up a nice light. The ceilings are only 8' so the fan hung down too low. Next one will be the one in the living room which we do need since it's a vaulted ceiling. The previous owners rigged this up with leftover parts. the down rod is A: too short B: totally the wrong diameter C: only held together with a cotter pin. Made the mistake of turning it on one time and the thing wobbled so much I was afraid it would fall, so we have never used it. The position needs to be changed too since you can touch it from the loft. Needs to go down the beam a good 3 feet to be centered in the room. Last project we finished was taking down this canopy thing they had on the deck. The fabric roof was sun rotted and it was barely attached to the deck. One good wind gust could have taken it down. Besides it really looked stupid.
Our NC house is officially back on the market. This new realtor seems much more proactive than the last. She has already shared the pre listing on her FB page. She has 2 open houses planned, sign goes in the yard today and flyers will be ready tomorrow. I am excited and believe that she will get this done in a timely manner. I found out that she is friends with some of my old neighbors too. Small world for sure.

Everyone is so busy! Me, I've been just hanging out for the most part. Doing small things around the house. I've tried working on some new jewelry pieces, but the motivation is just not there. I just may have to take a good long break from it and do something else in the meantime. Not sure what yet, but when spring hits, there is plenty of yard work that needs to be done.

Glad that all of you affected by the storm got through okay. That is so tough especially when you are in a more urban location. No place to put the stuff. I grew up with that kind of snow on a regular basis, but because it's so rural, there was plenty of space to put the snow. Can't say I miss that. We really didn't get much here. A couple inches of snow which have since melted. Going to be 50 on Saturday, and then rain.

Time to go walk the girls. They are waiting on me. I swear they can tell time. ::)
