Lisa, thank you so much for your kind words!  I'm always so thrilled when people like my jewelry. :)

2
Lisa--your link has been posted.  Jolene--thanks for your support.  myeuropeantouch--all further in-progress photos will only be for people who donate to the Kickstarter project.  I figured $2 was a fair amount of money to donate for a year's worth of updates.

Thank you!  I'm so tremendously excited about this!

Hi Lisa--thanks for spreading the word!  Do you have a link you'd like me to reference on my Facebook page?

5
Thanks to you both!  It's a big crazy project--I'm always looking for the next epic thing to do.  And Nancy, I made sure to post your fan page on my Facebook page.  Thanks for spreading the word!

Larissa--while I plan on posting the finished dress in every place that will let me post photos, the in-progress photos will only be available to people who pledge at least $2.  I want to give them exclusive access to the making of such a project in thanks for their support.

Thanks for posting.  I was struggling to make the banner just right.

Thanks, Larissa.  I'm excited--it looks like I'll actually hit my goal and then I can really get serious about working on this.

9
Thanks for your well wishes!  And yes, I will be back to post photos when it's done, although that probably won't be for another year, at least.  (Yikes!)

Thanks so much!  I've posted about you on Facebook.  And really, good luck on the Renaissance bodice.  I support epic chainmaille.

My thanks to the three of you for your support.  And to Dee and Kimberly--I've shared your posts on my Facebook page.  (And Dee, I've retweeted your tweets.)

Thanks again--I'm really hoping to get funded for this project.  Fingers (and pliers) crossed!

General Discussion / Chainmaille wedding dress - Kickstarter project
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:07:17 PM »
Hi all,

I mostly just lurk on this board since I always have pliers in my hands.  But I recently started a Kickstarter project to fund my latest piece of epic chainmaille clothing piece: a chainmaille wedding dress.

The dress and veil will be made from over 100,000 anodized aluminum rings.  You can read more about the project here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1418616804/the-bride-an-epic-chainmaille-wedding-dress

I'm sure that posts asking for donations are as difficult to read as they are to write, so I'll keep my pleading short.  We're all artists and this isn't the best economic climate, so I won't beg for funds.  However, if anyone is willing to promote this on a blog, Facebook page, etc., I'm willing to post on my Facebook page about your HAF shop, or any other link that you'd like promoted from now until the end of the campaign at least (April 13).  If you do post something, just let me know about it so that I can send some traffic your way as well.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  And thanks for reading!

Best,
Vanessa

P.S. - Here's a photo of the veil so far.
