Jewelry / New Chainmaille Necklace
« on: January 14, 2010, 09:21:35 PM »
I'm going to just copy and paste my description from my blog, cuz I'm feeling lazy  :P

Yay, I finally listed some new jewelry in my shop. Just one necklace for now, but I'm going to be taking pics and trying to get up the rest soon. Here's my Spiral Crystal Drop Chainmaille Necklace.
Long name right? But I'm trying to get all the relevant search words in the title since most search engines use the first 60 characters for relevant searches.
I found this pretty focal piece in a little bead store in Riverside. I have one more, but I think I'm going to do something different with the other, so this will be the only necklace like this.
The chain is made up of the Japanese 2-2 weave. There are three spiral chains dangling from the main chain and the center spiral has a mobius flower in the center.
A pretty necklace and I'm very pleased with how it turned out, I've had this idea in my head for months now and it's awesome to see how it turned out.

Creative Creations / Puff the Magic Marshmallow
« on: December 10, 2009, 07:42:19 PM »
I love to cook, and I was watching Good Eats on Food Network and Alton Brown made some marshmallows, and I just had to try. They came out sooo good. I you've never had homemade marshmallows, you have to try them. I'm going to give these and some of my homemade hot cocoa out at Christmas.

General Discussion / Wrist Strength
« on: November 22, 2009, 10:41:22 PM »
So I recently started experimenting with stainless steel, and have gotten a few custom orders with stainless steel, and now my wrist is killing me. Is there a way to work out your wrists? Maybe I'm gripping my pliers wrong? Any tips would be appreciated.

Jewelry / Xander's Transformer's Bracelet
« on: October 20, 2009, 07:53:33 PM »
My son is all about transformers right now so he asked me to make him a bracelet with Bumblebee colors. He picked byzantine for the weave and I made him a yellow and black bracelet. I give it to him and he says "I like it mommy, but you forgot Bumblebee has blue eyes and silver on his tires." So I went back and added two blue rings for the eyes and a silver clasp with silver rings connecting it. He hasn't taken it off since.

General Discussion / I'm Back
« on: October 14, 2009, 12:26:00 AM »
Or at least I think I am. I've been insanely busy, mostly with family stuff. My grandparents 60th anniversary is this year and we're all throwing them a huge party and I got elected to make the invites, decorations and coordinate the hiring of mariachi's. All that on top of two kids and making jewelry have kept me busy but I think I'm caught up mostly  :-\

So I made these chainmaille leashes for all of our Ds' so the stylus wouldn't get lost anymore. I keep getting stopped by people who love them and want to buy them. My question is do you think I could could get into any copyright or licensing issues with nintendo?

General Discussion / OMG I forgot
« on: July 22, 2009, 05:49:21 PM »
I forgot about a baby shower we're going to on Saturday. I already crocheted a hat and booties and I'm working on a bib right now. I plan on making a blanket to, I found a cute pattern with size 50US needles and 4 strands of bulky weight yarn. I hope it comes out o.k. I think my hooks and needles are smoking.  ;D

Knitting, Crochet, Sewing and Needlework / Log Cabin Bath Rug
« on: July 21, 2009, 09:33:35 PM »
I knitted this bath rug log cabin style holding 5 strands of worsted weight cotton together on size 10US needles. Man is it heavy, took me about three cones of yarn to knit it and a couple weeks to knit, I had to keep putting it down due to the weight, but it's finally done.
