I don't know if many of you know I am a stroke survivor, I had a small bleedd into the brain, It was long to heal and obstacles were hard to get over, I finally got pass but gained lots of weight from the seisure meds. That was more than 15 years ago, you would not know because I slowly lost the weight and was healthy. I let the stress eat at me and started eating for comfort and have gained lots of weight and my blood pressure has been out of control a while now. It also caused blockages in my neck in the carotid artery on both sides, 50% anyway I had a TIA stroke a few weeks ago and hey found the blockage. It explained my exhaustion, vision problems and memory loss, I thought I had Alzheimer's . Good news is no surgery for now, I have some time to make health changes, lose weight, I gain back 65 pounds of the 84 I lost before, My Dr wants me to lose that start slow walking again, I am doing a mile a day for now, I am back on blood thinners he added another blood pressure pill, I am now a walking pharmacy, something I do not like.

I thought I would write this here and only have to do it once, I am not going to focus on this, I am focusing on getting healthy fast. I have had to cancel several things lately I could not go to a benefit, I mailed my donations of art and a trip to the Tennessee mountains to a friends cabin, I am not pleased, so I will be working on getting healthy, I will use my art to relieve stress, list a little, and decide about shows later.
I didn't want you all to think I was deserting you, or leaving. Please forgive my lack of participation sometimes, it is not because I don't want to do it, I just have to pace myself more until I feel more well. I love all of you, I promise you will not have to endure whining, I do not whine, this is information to my friends XXX

I don't know Bradford Smith, but thank you!

This is the first in a new series of tree art paintings inspired by a hike in the woods a few weeks ago.
This one is titled "Dash the Running Tree"
My purpose is to finish out the other paintings in the series, write a short children's story for each and eventually have it published.
This is an 8 x 10 wrapped canvas, the painting goes around the edges, this will be ready to hang. I am going to offer print on demand in my shop for the time being.

Art / My donation for Twitter Art Exhibit in L.A.
« on: December 19, 2012, 11:33:35 AM »
I will not be posting this for sale, I am simply sharing:) This is my first postcard art, I really had fun doing this so I will do more.
I am honored to be part of the Twitter Art Exhibit in L.A. this year. This is the 3rd year, and it is really growing and doing lots of good, all proceeds go to charity, last year I read they were able to donate over $4000 to a battered womens shelter, I know they did more but I can't recall the others.
This is hand cut from heavy mat board done in acrylics and inks. All postcards are sold for $35 each, I hope mine sells fast, wish me luck as I mail this today.
If you wish to help just retweet the #twitterartexhibit when you see it and help promote the other contributing artists, I believe I read over 300 are submitting:) I love to use my art to improve others lives it is truly an honor:)
My work is Titled: And we Dance!

General Discussion / I need your help please?
« on: December 12, 2012, 05:15:00 PM »
I got a message from my See.Me page that I need 25 supporters to be featured on their face book page, they have 163,000 fans, so it is a big deal or I would not ask. The deadline is 12 midnight tonight :o

It is a simple click the support button on the upper right hand side then the face book button comes up and click to share. Thanks so much! It could mean some grant money for me or even a chance to have my art featured on Time Square. I know the last artist that got that award, Jeff Mueller, it really boosted his career.
Anyway, I have to have 25 by midnight tonight if you can? The more supporters the more chance I have of $$, and I could use that. I know the link looks hinky but it's right.
Here is the link

Art / I just keep playing at watercolors-finished my vase of lilies.
« on: November 21, 2012, 03:14:08 PM »
This vase of lilies took 7 work sessions of varying lengths from a few minutes to a couple of hours each.
All in all I am happy with this one. It is about an 8x10 I am going to mat and maybe frame this to see how it looks.

A woman messaged me here in my shop and said she wanted to purchase mt Christmas Card painting, she wanted me to email her using her personal email.
I was suspicious because she asked stupid questions, like price and did I take Pay Pal.
It seems the scammers have switched from fake checks to pay pal because they can get you stuff and then say you didn't ship and paypal gives then back their money and it is very hard to catch then, you are out money and stuff. I am thinking about closing my paypal account for that very reason, it is not safe for sellers, the safe guards are built in to keep buyers safe, not us.
I played her game and answered her, then she said well I am an oceonographer, (yes) fishy! She would pay then send an agent to pick up, I told her no thanks!
I will not give out my address so they can break in my home.
I am not sure why I am being targeted by these people. They hit me all the time on Fine Art America, I listed something totally unrelated on Craigs List and I got a dozen different scam responses! Now they are here too.
BTW the name she used was Dorothy Parker.
