Creative Creations / Inspired by fall colors
« on: October 07, 2011, 12:55:36 PM »
I have finished painting of one more wine glass - Peak of Colors. This is first glass for new hand painted set. I still have not decided how the next glass in this set will look. I have two options: make all set using Autumn theme or make set using seasons of year theme. Anyway here it is. Glass inspired by a colorful death of summer...

Next picture is the look from inside. This glass is for white wine and I suppose that pale color of wine will accent colors of glass.

I started to paint them in the middle of February and it took more than 3 months to paint them all. Of course I have not painted them all the time, I have vacations and tight schedule at work, etc. But it's a lot of time anyway. This is my first glass painting creations, so it has some lacks and space to improve my skills.

Creative Creations / Vintage Hand-painted Shabby Chic Stand
« on: October 11, 2010, 02:07:53 PM »
I was finally able to finish my next furniture rescue project over weekend - piece of furniture with unknown purpose. I believe it is some kind of entry way furniture but it can be anything:-) So lets name it just stand. Or anything you want.
Unfortunately I don't have picture 'before' but to let you imagine: it was dark brown scratched item that had its best years long time ago. The condition of the stand was not good at all.
Some stuff just do not listen to you, and when you start to work on it the picture in your mind never became true.  This piece is kind of. I had totally different imagination about what it will be. Color, decoration, everething is not that I plan. This furniture piece knew what it wanted to be and I just did what it told to me.

There are more pictures of it here

Hi everybody! I have question to community.
I am from Ukraine and now living in the USA, so I know a lot great Ukrainian handmade artists. I have an idea to help them in selling their stuff in USA, because they cant do it by theirself - its a huge problem to send something from Ukraine, our post service is terrible. There are also problems with PayPall and moneys transfers.
The prices they sell handmade are also really good and I can bring their art works to USA it is not a problem but problem is where to sell it?
Etsy, HAF and other handmade shops have a policy - sell only vintage, crafts and/or your works. Any ideas? Or it is only one way - create my own shop?
Thanks everybody!

Creative Creations / Treasure vase

It's totally not my idea. I have seen something like this in colonial Williamsburg museum and somewhere on internet.
Everybody has some box/jar/shelve there is a lot of different stuff is collected: buttons, keys, nails, screws, coins, shells, beads and more and more things you never throw away because you always think: "I may need it sometime". I named my box "treasure box" and here is my last art work created using this garbage.

and another look

I am collecting pennies for a while. So I needed a storage for them big enough to hold at least 50 dollars :-)
Also I have a dream - blue Corvette Grand Sport 2010. I promised to myself that I will never do anything with glass anymore. Ever. But....
glass jar, acrylic paints and couple hours of time and here we go:

I plan to do one more - for home down payment:-) This jar will be filled up by nickels and dimes:-)

Creative Creations / another table - Rain
« on: May 23, 2010, 05:24:26 PM »
Just finished remodeling and renewing another furniture piece - glass table. As for me drawing on glass is much difficult than drawing on any opaque staff. Because each wrong move and mistake is highly visible.
So the result of my drawing is below, take a look:

Creative Creations / old bookcase -> entryway furniture
« on: April 10, 2010, 09:30:40 PM »
Ok, I finally finish it. This is my another crazy piece of furniture. My apartments looks more and more strange :) I started to work on it in the end of February. The most painful part was to draw all these license plates :)
So an old bookcase + old maps + traffic light toy + old jeans = entryway furniture
